r. Arnold Noyek was born in Dublin, Ireland. After immigrating to Canada, he would later graduate from medical school at the University of Toronto, and subsequently train in otolaryngology at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York City. He has been on the staff of Mount Sinai Hospital since 1966, and served as Otolaryngologist-in-Chief from 1989 to 2002. He is a consultant with the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care in Toronto, where, for 40 years, he has served the elderly with hearing disabilities, and at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Noyek is a Professor of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery), a Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and a Professor of Medical Imaging (Radiology) at the University of Toronto. He is an Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Health, at York University. He is also Director of International Continuing Education for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Founding Director of the Peter A. Silverman Centre for International Health (PASCIH), Mount Sinai Hospital. He is the Founder of the Canada International Scientic

Exchange Program (CISEPO). He is a Senior Ashoka Fellow for Canada. Dr. Noyek is the recipient of prestigious awards, author/co-author of books, textbook chapters, and scientic journal articles, and has given invited lectures and training courses on ve continents while serving as editor and reviewer for leading medical publications. He is devoted to his patients and is an innovator in patient education and quality assurance. Internationally, he is a pioneer and innovator in building networks of peaceful professional cooperation in the health sector at the people-to-people level and through technology. He credits an amazing team of health care professionals and student volunteers for buying into his vision of alleviating suffering and combatting ignorance while achieving greater educational and development goals and signicant international health policy impacts under a Canadian umbrella. And he and the team are always moving forward! The Dr. Arnold M. Noyek Legacy Fund at the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation will go to support projects and initiatives consistent with the lifelong vision and educational mission of Dr. Noyek.
