CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This section presents the summary of the findings on the acceptability, salability, and profitability of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty; its conclusions and recommendations.

Summary of the Findings This study was conducted for the purpose of finding out the acceptability, salability, and profitability of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty production. From the study the following were arrived: 1. The acceptability of the quality attributes of Cardava Banana Patty was greatly liked same was true with Beef Patty. 2. The gross sales of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty production were P1 102.36 and P1 335.69, respectively. 3. The profit of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty production were P799.14 and P1 032.47, respectively. 4. There was a significant difference on the quality attributes of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty in terms of taste. 5. There was a significant difference on the gross sales of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty.production. 6. There was a significant difference on the profit of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty production..

7. The Return on Investment for Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty production was 26% and 36%, respectively.

Conclusions Based on the findings, the following conclusions were hereby presented: 1. The quality attributes of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty were acceptable. 2. Cardava Banana Patty was more salable than Beef Patty. 3. Both Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty production were profitable. 4. The Beef Patty had higher gross profit since the production cost of Beef Patty was lower compared to the Cardava Banana Patty. 5. There was a significant difference on the salability on the quality attributes of Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty. 6. Both Cardava Banana Patty and Beef Patty got a Return on Investment more than enough to cover expenses. 7. Therefore, the study was very appropriate, this time majority of the young students are consumers of fast food since available burgers in the City and its suburbs are mostly pan fried red meat which are not healthful. Most of them are already towards obesity.

Recommendations Based on the conclusions and findings of the study, the following were drawn: 1. Burger patties are convenience foods. Making innovations on how to

make patties more healthful like using the Cardava Banana as its major components is a positive alternative. Bananas are the best sources of potassium, the mineral everybody needs for a good health. 2. Promotion on the utilization of the Cardava Banana Patty should be encouraged most especially to the younger generation. The youths need the correct quality of food intake; they need this for their good body health and most especially for their brain development. 3. The production of Cardava Banana Patty should be supported by large production of Cardava Bananas (the main component of Cardava Banana Patty). Hence, the farmers can be encouraged to plant more Cardava Bananas. Through this, the Cardava Banana Patty venture can extra alternative source of livelihood among sustenance farmers. 4. The commercialization of Cardava Banana Patty will result to more usage of banana fruits. Its peelings can be turned into organic fertilizers for almost all agricultural crops, especially the flower bearing plants. Banana peels contain so much potassium and other minerals, which could serve well the plants needs. Hence, farmers can replace the use of chemical fertilizers with the organic fertilizers. Too much usage of chemical give

fertilizers results to the high acidity of the soil, the usage of organic fertilizers should be advocated. 5. Further, the commercialization of the Cardava Banana Patty production will provide a new livelihood option for the young entrepreneurs.These entrepreneurs promote its marketing, they can employ other people to assist in the production and marketing of the Cardava Banana Patty. 6. Mang Inasal is a model of small business enterprise which has gone so far in the country. It has now more than one hundred fifty branches. Along this line , the Cardava Banana Patty ventures can also be franchised here in Iloilo City and later, nationwide. This is a new venture; therefore,

competition is lesser as compared to the other patties. 7. The researcher is highly recommending that St. Paul University Iloilo be the first to adopt the consumption of Cardava Banana Patty. The

University Officials and Staff are all health conscious .They all can serve as models to all its students and associates.. 8. The results of the study should be published in all local papers and national papers for others to be aware of the benefits derived (both financial and social) this project can bring. 9. Additional study on wide commercialization of Cardava Banana Patty production should be performed in best known fast food chains in Iloilo City and its suburbs. 10. Improving the packaging of Cardava Banana Patty is highly

recommended.
