INVENTION DISCLOSURE FORM

INSTRUCTION SHEET Please complete the entire form. In addition, attach a detailed description of the invention, including supporting drawings or images, with parts or components labeled throughout, using your nomenclature. This description may serve as a basis for a patent application. Consequently, it should provide detailed information about how to make and use the invention. The description should include working examples of your invention. When drafting the description, keep in mind the requirements for patentability. REQUIREMENTS FOR PATENTABILITY The invention must be new, or different from any "prior art". Prior art refers to any public information, such as existing technology, processes, methods, or products, available prior to your invention. It must be useful, or perform a useful function. Further, it must be non-obvious, or go beyond any known information, so that it is not "obvious to one skilled in the art." Non-obvious is a frequent cause for rejecting a patent application. Carefully considering why your invention is nonobvious may advance your success toward obtaining a patent. The description should state what your invention is and how it is different or superior to the current state-of-the-art. Please describe the most relevant information to your invention. If you have performed an Internet search (such as using Google and Bing), please described your findings (identify similar and/or related technologies). Such information patented or not may limit the patentability of your invention, thus causing a rejection of the patent application. Please submit (1) the completed Invention Disclosure Form and (2) a detailed description of your invention, with (3) supporting drawings or images, labeled to aid in understanding your invention. Production drawings and a bill of materials, if available, may be useful in understanding the component parts of your invention. In the United States, a patent application must be filed no later than one year after the public has access to a printed publication disclosing the invention in detail. In other countries, filing must take place before either oral or printed publication is made available to the public; however, where there has been a U.S. filing before any oral or printed publication, generally a one-year grace period is granted for foreign filing.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INVENTORSHIP In order to be an inventor, an individual must make a material contribution to the claimed invention. Simply taking instruction for another, rendering drawings, or managing a department does not make an individual an inventor. However, the conception must be sufficiently complete to enable a person skilled in the art to make the invention using no more than routine experimentation. If ingenuity is required to make the invention, it is likely that the person employing such ingenuity has made a material contribution to the invention. Filing U.S. patent applications with properly designated inventorship is important. U.S. patent laws require U.S. patent applications to be filed in the name of the inventors rather than in the name of the owners. Improper inventorship can be used to invalidate issued U.S. Patents. WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Please attach sketches, drawings, flow charts, memos or other descriptive material which illustrates or describes the present preferred and any alternative versions of the invention. There should be a clear description of what is considered to be the invention. Be careful to describe what makes the invention different from existing technology. Explain terms of art. Describing all the parts and how the parts work together. Describe any critical ranges of size, weight, pressure, materials, etc. Describe alternative designs. Attached electronic drawings in one of the standard graphic formats (PCX, GIF, JPG, DWG formats), or 3D eDrawing files or 3D Solid Works files, if permitted.
