    Purpose of the Job


    To support the interactions between the Software Team and the wider Product Engineering function through software calibration, technical support to the test team, requirements capture, and software documentation.

    Key Accountabilities
    Being the primary Software Team Interface to the Product Engineering Team Ensuring high quality and appropriately detailed requirements capture process is performed Delivering technical support for embedded software to the Product Engineering Team Ensuring appropriate software documentation is created Supporting Controller Feature Calibration, e.g. PID tuning, Diagnostics calibration Developing high quality software release processes into a high volume manufacturing environment

    Key Results Areas to do


    Generation of formal requirements capture documents to allow development and testing of software features Creation of User Documentation for the Software Capture Installation and Service requirements from our Installation Partner Review implemented strategies for readability Assist in development of product diagnostics

    Internal & External Relationships


    Work closely with the rest of the software team and the control & electronics group as a whole Regular contact with system engineers to determine control strategy requirements Regular contact with the product test team to provide technical support, capture new feature requests and bug fixes.

    Candidate Profile
    You will have exceptional attention to detail skills and with a proven ability of conceptualizing innovative ideas from a practical viewpoint. You will have strong technical documentation skills and a good understanding of physical systems. Your understanding of control strategies development and the Matlab/Simulink toolchain will lead you to become the main external contact point for the software team.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience


    Required experience/qualifications: At least Degree Qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering Science, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering etc) At least 4 years of relevant industrial experience Required skills: Basic classical control design techniques An understanding of programming in a high level language (e.g. Matlab/Simulink, VisualBasic, C/C++) and the associated software life cycle An understanding of physical systems (at least one of thermal, fluids, electrical) Desirable: Sensors, actuators and instrumentation Understanding of basic electronics
