EARTH MATTERS
In Hindu mythology, Earth is worshipped as GODDESS ADITI, who is described as the Mother of the Earth & Sky. In our vedas, Earth is treated as MOTHER.
(The Earth is Mother, I am son of Earth.)
EARTH MATTERS
Earth is an amazing planet, and the one that matters most to us. We love watching it in all of its beauty and fury, its history and its future. Lets have a conversation about why EARTH MATTERS.
EARTH MATTERS
Forests & wild animals are very important to our world and our survival. But unfortunately most of us don't understand the importance of this rich wealth of forest and wildlife we have. Deforestation and illegal poaching of animals are fast depleting the forest and wild life. So efforts must be taken to conserve the forest and wild life.
The tsunami killed 100 times more people than 9/11. The planet is brutally powerful. Respect it. Preserve it.
EARTH MATTERS
FORESTS
5 most forest-rich countries (the Generally saying FORESTS are Russian are the large areas Federation, Brazil, the large Canada, thickly with plants and covered the USA and China) accounted for more than half of the trees.. total forest area. These plant & trees cover 10 countries had no forest at all approximately 9.4% of the and an surface (or 54 had forest on Earth's additional 30% of total less area). 10 percent of their total land than land area.
Or this?
On this?
Trees are home for many animals & birds, thus, preserve tree.
Deforestation
Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non forest use. Examples of deforestation include conversion of forestland to farms, ranches, or urban use.
Rates of deforestation
As per FAO
by (Food & Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations),
2030 there will only be 10% remaining Another ten percent in a degraded condition 80 percent will have been lost With them hundreds of thousands of irreplaceable species.
FOREST CONSERVATION
FOREST CONSERVATION
Reforestation is the restocking of destroyed forests by planting new trees. We should plant at least as many trees as we cut. We have already caused a lot of damage to our forests. If we have to regain our green wealth, reforestation is the only option.
FOREST CONSERVATION
About 17 full grown trees are required to produce 1 tonne of paper. Paper can be recycled about 5 to 7 times for use. We should save, reuse and recycle paper to save not only trees but also to save the energy, water and chemicals used to make paper.
WILD LIFE
WILD LIFE means the native animals of a region.
EXTINCT SPECIES
A species is said to be extinct when it is not seen in the wild for 50 years at a stretch e.g., Dodo, Passenger Pigeon, Pink headed duck
ENDANGERED SPECIES
An endangered species is a population of organisms which is at risk of becoming extinct because it is either few in numbers, or threatened by changing environmental or predation parameters.

Siberian Tiger
Philippine Eagle
ENDANGERED SPECIES
A few Species of endangered reptiles, birds, mammals and plants of India are:
Reptiles: Gharial, Green Sea Turtle, Python. Birds: Great Indian Bustard (Sohan/Hukna), Pelican, Peacock, Great Indian Hornbill, Siberian White Crane.
ENDANGERED SPECIES
c. Carnivores: Indian Wolf, Red Fox, Sloth Bear, Red Panda, Tiger, Leopard Striped Hyena Indian Lion, Golden Cat. d. Primates: Hoolock Gibbon, Lion tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Langur, Capped Monkey, Golden Monkey.
VULNERABLE SPECIES
A species is said to be in vulnerable category if its population is facing a continuous decline due to over exploitation or habitat destruction. Such a species is till abundant, but under a serious threat of becoming endangered if casual factors are not checked.
Polar Bear
Koala
Cheetah
Animals matter..
Eco-Eating
Eco-Eating
Eating meat threatens animal welfare, personal health, societal safety, food security, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. The best way for us to personally protect our world and our health is to Go Vegetarian... thats Eco-Eating!

EARTH MATTERS
Plant one tree on your every birthday and take care of it. Love animals & Leave a spoonful of grain every morning for birds. Do not waste anything, instead find use for it elsewhere. Save water, electricity, paper, fuel etc. & help to reduce global warming. Go for eco eating Visit a nearby national park/sanctuary. Educate others.
