INDUSTRY PROFILE
Indian aluminium industry

Indian Aluminum Industry was first established in the year 1808 and it took almost 46 years to make its production commercially viable On earth Aluminum is third most available element constituting almost 7.3% by mass. Currently Aluminum is also the second most used metal in the world after steel.

1938- Aluminum production started in India 1959- Hindustan Aluminum Corporation (Hindalco) was set up ! 20000 T/annum 1965- Malco a public sector enterprise was commissioned ! 10,000 T/annum 1987- National Aluminum Company ( NALCO) was commissioned to produce Al. !.218 MT /annum 1991- Liberal import of technologies and capital goods was started.

Liberalization resulted in a growth rate of 12% of the industry, comparing to the growth rate of 6% during the 1980. India stands at the eighth position in the list of leading primary Al producers in the world. Al usage in global front is tilted towards transportation and packaging sectors.

SIZE OF THE INDUSTRY;global requirement- 7.4 Mt against the consumption in India only around 110,000tons India is expecting to have an installed capacity of 1.7 to 2 million tons/ annum by 2020 exports figures are around 82000 tons annually. Major importers are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Iraq.

Jindal profiles enjoy wide international acceptance and exported to over 26 countries such as USA, Europe, Middle East, etc. Export department is fully equipped with modern communication facilities, skilled manpower and wide range of network. Highly trained & experienced personnel for handling logistics. Participated in International Trade Fair Aluminium 2008 in Essen, Germany and International Conferences such as ET in USA right from1982. Awarded Silver Shield as Star Performer of export for last 4 consecutive years by Government of India.

ECO-FRIENDLY POLICY
Jindal Aluminium supports environmentally friendly processes and green initiatives.
It has established 12.04 MW Wind Power Mill for meeting 100% of the companies energy requirements and exporting excess power. Earned carbon credit by adopting green processes. Replaced fossil fuel like diesel and furnace oil with producer gas made from Bio fuel. Established waste water treatment plant and recycling the water for agricultural purposes resulting in zero discharge. To encourage recycling, Jindal consumes nearly 20% of re-cycled high quality Aluminum extrusions. Tree Planting in excess of 15000 trees in the campus to establish a green cover.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
Micro processor based Aluminium Extrusion presses Computerized spectrometer for metal analysis. CAD-CAM facility for Die manufacturing. Computerized Universal Testing Machine. Profile measurement facility - ROMIDOT from Israel. R&D Division recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY


Jindal Nature cure Institute where drugless healing therapy using Naturopathy, Yoga and diet are practiced. Jindal Rural Charitable Hospital and Jindal Charitable Hospital for meeting health needs of nearly 1000 patients per day Three mobile medical vans visit 100 villages in a week providing medical facilities to 600 patients daily at their door step. Jindal Public School with nearly 1400 children from neighboring villages Jindal Pre-University College with nearly 400 girl students. Jindal Degree College for Girls, In Computer Science and Commerce, Mahila Arts and Crafts Charitable Institute for teaching the art of garment stitching, computer literacy, etc. for village destitutes. Built Schools at our cost in 107 villages and handed over to Government. 7000 scholarships awarded to students for pursuing education.
