    Poor social development: being superior in


    intelligence they do not find friends to play
    with.
    Insecurity: if their superiority is not recognised
    by the parents and teachers, they feel
    psychologically insecure.
    Maladjustments: if their superiority is too much
    emphasized they develop conceited attitude

    Indiscipline: not being properly guided, the use
    their superiority in mischief and indiscipline.

    CHRACTERSTIC IDENTIFICATION.

    EDUCATION OF THE GIFTED CHILDREN

    In 2011, the National Association for Gifted


    Children published a position paper that
    defined what a gifted student is. The term
    "gifted," in that position paper, describes
    individuals who demonstrate outstanding
    aptitude or competence in one or more
    domains. An "aptitude" is there defined as
    an exceptional ability to learn or reason.
    "Competence" is defined as documented
    performance or achievement in the top 10
    percent of the population.

    Following are some ways to promote education of the


    children:

    Identifying the child: Education should be in


    such a way that it could identify the gifted
    children by aptitude tests etc.
    Rapid promotion: The superiority of gifted
    children should be promoted as they are
    valuable property of nation.

    Individual attention: No two persons are alike,


    not even in the case of gifted children. So they
    should be treated accordingly to feel them
    psychologically secure

    Diversification of courses: Diversification


    of courses should be there, so they could
    take subjects accordingly their needs,
    interests, abilities and aptitudes.
    Ample home tasks: Challenging home
    tasks should be given to gifted children to
    fully utilize their idle time
    Enrichment in co-curricular activities:
    Activities like- debates, declamations,
    games and trips etc. should be arranged for
    gifted children.

    Library facilities: Gifted children should be


    given library facilities with proper
    encouragement of intelligent use of library.
    Tasks of responsibility: Responsibilities
    like monitorship, leadership of houses and
    teams should be given to them.
    Guidance and scholarships: Guidance and
    counselling should be given to channelize
    their energy and potentials.

    Competent and Nobel teachers: such


    teachers should be provided to gifted
    children to handle them psychologically and
    to make arrangements according to their
    abilities.
    Segregation of classes: Since gifted children
    posses high superiority, they feel bore with
    average children. Hence separate classes
    should be arranged according to their
    abilities, needs and interests.
