CURTAIN - DECORATIVE
FABRIC COMMONLY HUNG TO

ABLINDIS A TYPE OF WINDOW

APPLICATIONS
Curtains are used to block incoming
sunlight.
They are used as a divider, or partition,
between rooms within a residential
setting.
They are used in

musical and theatre
productions.
These types of
curtains are
exponentially bigger
than "regular"
curtains as they serve
to cover up the entire
stage in between
acts.
A curtain may be
used for providing a
privacy faade,
blocking what is
going on from one
room to the next.
SHOWER CURTAIN:
Functions by
impeding the water
that is reflected and

individual takes a
shower.
It saves people the
hassle of having to
clean up the water
that otherwise
would end up on the

REMOTE CONTROL CURTAIN SYSTEMS

A remote controlled curtain system allows you
to have the convenience of opening and closing
your curtains at the touch of a button.
WORKING:
-It works by the remote control
sending an
infrared signal to a receiver on
the curtains.
-This infrared receiver is
installed into the
curtain track of curtains.
-When finished hooking up the
curtains to
the track, the remote may be
used. When
the remote is used an infrared
signal is sent
SPECIFICATION FOR CURTAINS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Curtains shall be machine
sewn throughout and where
two or more widths are joined
they shall have an over locked
seam.
Standard heading tape
should be 75mm pencil pleat
type unless otherwise
specified.
Side seams shall be bag
lined. Valences- side and
bottom hems shall be bag
lined, return face cloth to
lining side by a minimum of

Tracks to be securely fixed either into
the lintel or into new existing battens with
wood screws of suitable gauge and length;
brackets to be fitted at maximum
intervals of 600mm or to the
manufacturers specification, with
appropriate number of runners and end
stops.
CURTAIN CORDED
Cording sets typically shall comprise of 2
master runners, one double and one single
pulley, 2 end stops and continuous cored
weight complete with cord as specified by
manufacturer
BATTENS
Battens shall comprise of planned softwood
chamfered on all face edges, suitably
prepared to suit clients requirements.
To be securely fixed with countersunk
screws of suitable gauge and length at
minimum 450mm centres to walls by drilling
and plugging or according to base structure.
SPECIFICATION FOR BLINDS

ROLLER BLINDS
Roller blinds are made
from the highest quality
fabrics. To operate, simply
use the chain at the side of
the blind which will raise
and lower it to the height
you prefer.
They are to be capable of
side fixing as required using
metal brackets.
The blinds shall have side
edges finished free of snags
or loose fibres.
The bottom edge shall
VERTICAL BLINDS
Vertical blinds are made from high
quality fabrics in 89mm and 127mm width
strips, which are called louvers.
The louvers hang from the head rail
and are linked by a chain at the bottom.
Vertical blinds have two controls. One
allows the blind louvers to be tilted to the
left or the right. This means you can
block the light out, let it in, or filter it by
tilting the louvres to an angle.
The other one lets you pull the louvres
fully back, either to the left or the right.
Or they can split in the centre like a pair
of curtains
All vertical blinds come with a white
headrail and white components.
VENETIAN BLINDS
Venetian blinds includes slats made from
either aluminium or wood. Choose from slat
widths ranging from 15mm to 50mm to suit
the size of the window or the effect you
wish to create.
There are two controls to operate
aluminium Venetian blinds. A cord controls
the height of the blind and either a cord or
a wand controls the angle of the slat.
50mm aluminium Venetians come with a
cord to tilt the blind, whereas 15mm and
25mm aluminium Venetians come with a
rod to tilt the blind.
Slats shall be in the open position when
the blind is raised or lowered.
For Wood Venetians there is a tolerance
when manufacturing of up to 3mm on width
