Ps = static pressure (Pa),
Pv = dynamic pressure (Pa)
Pv= (v2)/2
where = air mass density (kg/m3), v = air velocity (m/s)
Ps = Pf + Px = (K per (L+Le) Q2) / A3 (from Atkinson formula),
where,
Pf = frictional pressure drop (Pa),
Px = pressure drop caused by shock loss (Pa),
K = friction factor (kg/m3) (from McElroy, 1935),
L = length of airway (m),
Le = equivalent length of shock loss (m),
per= flow perimeter (m),
Q = quantity of flow (m3/s),
A = cross-sectional area (m2)
