Introduction

150m long Feeder ship cargo ship-900Damen is a cargo ship that can takes all
container size
Has a movable cell guide where a change
in container size can be rapidly handled
on board.
Hatch is easy to handle where the hatch
covers are operated using hydraulics,
making them easy to open and close as
needed.

Method Of ConstructionModular Concept

Ships are built in the shortest time when a
series of specific pre-planned Modules are
assembled like a Lego set.
A Module is an engineered assembly of a
portion of the ship Platform that contains a set
of concentrated hardware and software that
drives one or more specific functions of the
ship directly or in combination with other
Modules.
Benefit of Modular Concept:
The construction time is least when the
Modules in turn are preassembled into
Blocks.

DESIGN
The hull form and arrangement of ship are
determined on the design stage. Research
and development are also conducted at this
stage.

Production planning

Working and production schedules are

developed, considering efficient
production.
Example: implement ACS(accuracy
control system)

The arrival of steel

The steel for hull form arrives at the

factory from the iron mill by ship.

Primer coating
Prior to processing operation,
the steel is surface-treated to
prevent corrosion.

Cutting of steel

Cutting of steel is a first step of

production.

Processing of steel

The shape of the hull is formed in this

phase.

Panel line

The panels for hull blocks are made

efficiently using a dedicated production
line system.

Sub assembly

The steel parts assembly phase.

Block assembly

Block assembly phase by modular

concept.

Outfitting for blocks

Pipes and equipment are installed in the

blocks.

Block joint on the dock

Hull blocks are joined on the dock

efficiently

Final Outfitting

The final outfitting was done to installed the

piping, remaining machineries and equipment
such as safety equipment onboard.

Ship Launching

By using the hip launching method using

air bag as a platform for the ship to slide
from slipway to the water.

Sea Trials

Ship's performance is confirmed by sea

trial.

Naming and delivery ceremony

After the completion of all construction

procedures, the naming and delivery
ceremony is held for the ship, and the
ship is delivered to the owner.
