The award accords
government recognition to exemplary performance. It is also an instrument to scaleup the valuing of accountability, transparency and inclusivity in local administration and development.
SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE
The Award aims for a condition where LGUs
sustain the practice of accountability and transparency, and espouse a pro-active financial management (Good Financial Housekeeping); Adequate and effectively prepare for the challenges posed by disasters (Disaster Preparedness); are sensitive to the needs of vulnerable and marginalized sectors of the society like women, children,, indigenous people and persons with disabilities (Social Protection)
LUPONG TAGAPAMAYAPA INCENTIVES
AWARD
The Award aims to (a) strengthen the Katarungang
Pambarangay (KP) as an indigenous conflict resolution structure at the grassroots; (b) Institutionalize a system of granting economic benefits and other incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa, herein referred to as lupons, which demonstrate exemplary performance; and (c) Generate greater awareness among, and support from, the various sectors of Philippine Society on the KP as a potent vehicle toward social ordering and human development.
