What Do Good
Readers Do?

Target Objectives
Students will demonstrate knowledge of the
characteristics exhibited by good readers by filling in
the cloze sentences included. They will also apply
these strategies when orally reading.
Students will write out their strengths and goals for

becoming good readers using the stems:

Reading Survey
We give reading surveys to gather
information about
students that will guide our instruction,
and also to help students reflect upon
their reading, self-monitor, and set new
goals. There is a sample one to take on
this site!

at home when reading each night
with a family member.
when reading alone.
