The document discusses the use of robots in manufacturing processes such as welding, spraying, assembly, inspection, testing, and loading/unloading. It specifically focuses on palletizing and pick and place processes. Palletizing involves stacking products on pallets in an automated and optimized way. Pick and place automation speeds up the process of picking up parts and placing them in new locations to increase production rates. The advantages of robot applications in industry are then discussed in terms of production, quality, effectiveness, and the environment. Robots can decrease costs, improve quality and reliability, utilize floor space better, perform multiple applications expertly, reduce waste, and increase workplace safety.

KU ER MENG ( 14DEM15F2002) YUVABARATHI KUNALAN ( 14DEM15F2005 ) MUHAMMAD ZAKI BIN ZAINAL(14DEM15F2012) LIM JIN JIE (14DTP15F2004) ROBOT ARE CHANGING THE FACE OF MANUFACTURING. THEY ARE DESIGNED TO MOVE MATERIALS, AS WELL AS PERFORM A VARIETY OF PROGRAMMED TASKS IN MANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION SETTINGS. THEY HAVE BEEN USED IN MANUFACTURING PROCESSES AS BELOW: A ) Welding process b) Spraying process c) Assemble process d) Inspection process e) Testing process f) Loading and unloading process BELOW ARE TYPICAL MATERIAL HANDLING APPLICATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN THE ROBOTICS SYSTEM. DISSCUSS BRIEFLY ABOUT: a) Palletizing process A) PALLETIZING
- THE AUTOMATIC PALLETIZING PROCESS CONSISTS OF ALL THOSE ACTIVITIES
NECESSARY TO STACK MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRODUCT ON A PALLET OR ON A SLIP SHEET (UNITIZING) IN AN AUTOMATIC AND OPTIMIZED WAY. B) PICK & PLACE PROCESS
- ROBOTIC PICK AND PLACE AUTOMATION SPEED UP THE
PROCESS OF PICKING PARTS UP AND PLACING THEM IN NEW LOCATION, INCREASING PRODUCTION RATES. Describe the advantages of robots applications in industry based on the several aspects:
a) Production
decreased production cost: a quick return on investment
( ROI) outweighs the initial setup costs. With robots , throughput speeds increase , which directly impact production. shorter cycle times: a lean manufacturing line is crucial for increasing efficiency. An automated robot has the ability to work at a constant speed without pausing for break, sleep or vacations , and ultimatedly has the potential to produce more in a shorter time than a human worker. b) Quality
improve quality and reliability: application are perfomed
with precisions and high repeatability every time. It ensures the product is manufactured with the same specifications and process every times. Repairs are few and far between. Attract more customer: reduction and schedule and costs attracts customers. Automations helps provide the highest throughput with least amount of spending. c) Effectiveness
better florr space utilization: by decreasing a footprints of a
work area by automazing part of your production line, you can utilize the floor space for other operations and make the process flow more efficient. Expert at multiple applications: automations in the manufacturing industry in the process of integrating industrial machinery to automatically perform a variety of applications such as welding , material handling, packing, palletizing, dispensing, cuting, etc. Reduced waste: robots are so accurates that the amount or raw material used can be reduced, decreasing costs on waste. d) Environment
are moved to supevisory role where they no longer have to perfom dangerous applications in hazardous setting. Lights screens or barriers are available to keep the operator out of harms way.
