TOO with Adjective
DEFINITION:
Its used to indicate that something is more than what is
needed. (bermakna terlalu / lebih dari yang
seharusnya dibutuhkan
It always has a negative sense. (selalu bermakna negatif)

EXAMPLES:
He is too old to play football with the kids.
He has too many friends to be treated on his birthday.

The use of TOO with Adjective
1. The coffee is very hot. I cant drink it.
The coffee is too hot to drink.
It means that the coffee is hot but in negative way, so
he/she cant drink it.

2. Febrina is very weak. She cant climb the mountain.


Febrina is too weak to climb the mountain.
Weak is a negative sense and even more with the too

The PATTERN of TOO with
Adjective
From the example above it can be inferred that the pattern is:

TOO + ADJECTIVE
or in another way

TOO + ADJECTIVE + (TO + INFINITIVE)


1. The coffee is too hot to drink.
Hot = Adjective (kata sifat)
2. Febrina is too weak to climb the mountain.
Weak = Adjective (kata sifat)

ENOUGH with Adjective
DEFINITION:
Enough expresses that something is adequate, within
what is desirable. (bermakna cukup dgn yg
dibutuhkan)
It has a positive sense. (memiliki makna positif)

EXAMPLES:
John is old enough to drive a car.
Vita is rich enough to treat her friends in her birthday.

The Use of ENOUGH with Adjective

1. She is pretty enough. Everybody can notice her.


She is pretty enough for everybody to notice her.
It means that everybody notices her because she is very
pretty.

2. Last summer was cool enough. We can go swimming


every day.
Last summer was cool enough to go swimming every
day.
It means that the cool weather in last summer was
sufficient, so everybody can enjoy swimming.

The PATTERN of ENOUGH with Adjective

From the example above it can be inferred that the pattern is:

ADJECTIVE + ENOUGH
or in another way

ADJECTIVE + ENOUGH + (TO + INFINITIVE)


1. She is pretty enough for everybody to notice her
Pretty = Adjective (kata sifat)
2. Last summer was cool enough. We can go swimming every day.
Cool = Adjective (kata sifat)
