ARIES AGRO LTD

• Established in 1969
• Founded by Dr T B Mirchandani and Mrs Bala Mirchandani
• Started by manufacturing a small range of mineral feed additives
for animals & birds and then diversified into mineral additives for
the agriculture use
• In 1975, it diversified into nutrients for plant
• 6400+ distributors, 86000+ retailers and 199000+ villages
• It is into Plant nutrients, plant protection, fisheries & animal
nutrition

PURPOSE

To get the decision whether Aries Agro Ltd. should take a step
ahead towards digitisation and to get into a newly related
product.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

• To identify whether they would like such type of app? Are they
ready to pay?
• To identify number of active users.
• To identify which type of conversation they would like?
• To identify whether customers are willing to have an Aries
handset which will cost them reasonably low?
RESEARCH QUESTIONS

• Are farmers and dealers aware of the Aries Agro company and
its product?
• Are farmers and dealers aware of Aries Agro app and if the app
is chargeable whether people are ready to pay for this
information based app?
• Will farmers buy low cost phone featuring Aries Agro App?

RESULTS( FOR FARMERS)

• 86% farmers prefer online information for crop related query and they
are ready to pay for such online app providing crop information
• 7% people are aware of Aries Agro App and out of them 29% are using
it within period of more than a month, 43% are using weekly, 29% are
using it once in a month.
• 93.85% dealers are ready to buy low cost featuring phone having Aries
Agro App.
• Overall 80% of farmers are ready to pay for additional service
RESULTS (FOR DEALERS)

• 65% are ready to sell the low-cost phone featuring Aries Agro
app in adding to their business line.

• 85% farmers are ready to suggest famers regarding the low-cost


phone featuring Aries Agro app
LIMITATIONS
• Time Constraint
• Respondents Behavior (Conservative, Confused)
• Inappropriate timing of Survey (peak hours of business)
• Extra other discussion of respondents while doing survey
• Less awareness of App
• Respondent’s got influenced by their colleagues
• Study was restricted to one city only i.e. Nasik
• Sample size was limited to 120 only.
RECOMMENDATIONS

• Promotional techniques to be increased


• Frequent interaction with the dealers and the farmers
• Aries Agro App to be launched In other regional languages
• Notifications should be given by App
• App can provide of similar kind of feature like e chaupal
SOLUTIONS
• Launching a low-cost phone can be little risky as other
companies are in list too, so hold that idea for some period.
• Make a more stronger relationship with dealers as they have
capacity to influence customers mind.
• More activities for direct contact with farmers, to get to know
other expectations of them.
