• Pre-conditions under the customer responsibility for standard Installation :
The physical site must be accessible by road with full access and a contact person
The customer must deliver a site preparation report with information on configuration & preparation (energy, cables duct, digital
distribution frame, existing microwave installations, …). This apply only if Alcatel-Lucent is not in charge of site preparation,
Check on new load capacity on tower. Alcatel-Lucent personnel must be provided with a safe work environment
• Indoor equipment installation :

Unpacking and control of the shipped equipment
Mounting & fixing of indoor racks & cabinets into position. Assembling Indoor board(s). Intra & inter rack/cabinet/equipment cabling
Connection to secondary 48v power supply & the electrical ground
Connection of tributaries, NMS access and house keeping connections to the Digital Distribution Frame (DDF)
• Installation in case of split mount or full indoor equipment :

Installation of the antenna, the pole mounting & the ODU on the mast / pylon for the split mount
Installation of the Indoor-Outdoor cable or the elliptic wave guide in the cable duct with connectors at each termination
Grounding of the antenna, ODU, IDU-ODU cable and the wave guide
Installation of the wave guide pressurisation device for full indoor
• Common :
Pre-positioning of the antenna (with compass and/or binoculars)
Identification of both Indoor and Outdoor cables with labels & Update of the installation document with pictures detailing
Waterproofing conformity & Site cleaning to remove all the waste produced during installation of the microwave

COMMISSIONING
• Pre-conditions under the customer responsibility that must be fulfilled prior to the delivery.
Alcatel-Lucent personnel must be provided with a safe work environment and authorised access to the respective site,
Information on hardware configuration, Tx/Rx frequency, shifter, Data rate, modulation, Tx/Rx power value, Equipment supervision, ….
The customer must provide a site contact person for commissioning topics (frequency planning, RF perturbations,…).
Availability of a preventive plan for risks.
• List of basic operations included in Commissioning service :

Control of equipment installation, antenna type, size and installation, of indoor-outdoor and cable(s)/feeder(s) grounding
Control of tributary, auxiliary channels and alarms cabling in the DDF,
Measure of wave guide VSWR (Long haul only),
Check of 48v power supply and Equipment warming up,
Check of software releases & equipment serial numbers,
Check of local & remote terminals supervision, of the terminal configuration (Transmission parameters, Alarms thresholds),
Check Antennas pointing (2 sites) and end to end transmission,
Test of RF channels switching, of local and remote loops,
Test of transmission & 48V power supply alarms
Check of Tx/Rx power measure, Main-Diversity in XPIC configuration (SDH Long Haul products only),
Measure of the receiver BER characteristic,
Fulfilment of the Control, measures sheet and the acceptance certificate then delivery of the documentation to Alcatel-Lucent,
Update of the site installation document with pictures giving detail on antennas branching, IDU-ODU cable mounting and grounding,
cables labelling, tributaries cabling, miscellaneous inter-units cabling, etc...

PRE-CONDITION BEFORE SWAP INTERVENTION
The customer must deliver all the necessary information on hardware & software configuration.
• Save / Collect local equipment configurations, connection, routing tables in each station.
Physical Hardware Configuration
Make a list of the Data rate, the modulation, the Tx/Rx frequency, shifter, Tx power value, estimated Rx power value,
Make an inventory of Alarms on Equipment
Check that the link is supervised by the operation center
Make a Quality & Performance monitoring..
• Network Design / Link Budget has to be available

• Depending of the project and if necessary make a Return Los measurement
• Check Spares of Filters availability
• Make a Site survey and a visual check before migration
• Check the real usage of each breaker before initiating the system upgrading has to be done
• The peoples in charge of the Installation & Commissioning must have a good Knowledge,
competencies of 9600 LSY & 9500 MPR Products
