AIM : To create a model of a house
which has cooling systems to
loss heat from the house.
Problem Statement

1) How to cool down the house?

2) Why does it get hotter in the house?
3)Types of houses which can trap heat easily in
Malaysia?
Types of houses in
Malaysia

Terrace House

A house built as part of a continuous

row in a uniform style.

The low cost terrace house which is

usually very small in size this cause
poor air ventilation and this will cause
rise in temperature.
Townhouse

A tall, narrow, traditional row house,

generally having three or more floors.

There will be 2 to 3 floors in townhouse.

Usually the second floor and above will
be hot because the hot air rises from
ground floor to up.
Semi-detached
house

A semi-detached house or also known

as Semi-D is a single family dwelling
house built as one of a pair that share
one common wall. Often, each
house's layout is a mirror image of the
other.

Outside and inside of the house is

spacious so air circulation will be good
in the house and this will cause less
heat.
Bungalow House

A low house, with a broad front porch,

having either no upper floor or upper
rooms set in the roof, typically with
dormer windows.

Outside and inside of the house is

spacious so air circulation will be good
in the house and this will cause less
heat.
Why does it get hotter
in the house?

1)No proper ventilation.

2)Dark colour paint which apply to the walls will absorb
heat.
3)Glasses windows.
4)More lights which used in house will increase temperature.
Ways to lose heat
from house.

1) Paint house in light colour.

2) Install turbine ventilator.
3) Plant grass on top of roof.
4) Walls of the house must be good insulator of heat.
5) Install water sprinkler.
6) Add more windows which is made up of wood.
Materials
and
apparatus

A water bottle, fan blade, DC motor, 500ml beaker,

water, immersion heater, thermometer and tin box.
Types of cooling system
In our model

- A turbine ventilator - A sprinkler
