Sole Ownership
My business will be a sole ownership because of how large the company is.
Starting off one shop will be open and one shop only, using a sole ownership
idea I will become responsible for the success or failure of the company.
Since profits will be low at the start having to split them with someone else
would not be a good idea. I have chosen to make my business around cars
because that is an interest I have always had, working on cars appeals to me
because I want to further my knowledge on them. An advantage found in
having a sole ownership is that the responsibility of the company will be in
my control. A disadvantage is that there will be no one to blame for the
failure except for myself.

Location
My business will be in Knox Indiana at 1006 S Heaton St. This location will benefit my business as it is
seen by over 11,000 cars daily. It is in a retail division with multiple retail stores located near it, such
as CVS, Tractor Supply Co, Zip Thru mart, and more. It is also located near the Knox community
middle school, High school, elementary school, and the Henry F. Schricker library. It being located on
the corner of Heaton street and east Culver street increases the amount of expositor it gets daily. The
actual building is nearly 8,000 square feet with 3,000 being a functional showroom in the front of the
building whereas the back is a 5,000 square feet garage.
Service Description
My automotive shop will be offering automotive services such as repairs,
upgrades/mods, everyday services such as oil changes, fluid changes,
aligning the tires, changing tires, and body work such as painting or
wrapping the car.
My business will offer a discounted price on labor costs if the customer is
willing to work on the car with one of the trained mechanics at the shop.
This offer will appeal to car enthusiasts or everyday people with a desire to
learn more about their car, and how it works, along with knowing how to
perform basic maintenance. There will be some exclusions to what the
discount applies to as a uneducated customer could provide more harm than
good.

Business Flyer
My business flyer will be advertised online,
as well as posted throughout the local area.
It includes valuable information on when
my company opens and closes as well as
where it is located. It provides anyone
interested in an automotive job the
opportunity to apply at my shop. Lastly it
gives possible customers an idea as to what
services my business provides, and it
offers a discount of 20% to new customers.

Employees
• I will hire 5 employees for each location that I
have, considering that starting off there will
only be one location it is key that the
employees hired are hardworking people. The
job they will be doing will mainly consist of
repairs on cars or service work based around
cars. Depending on the job at hand they could
also have to work with paint or wraps and the
work that comes with those jobs. The workers
should be ASE certified and knowledgeable in
how cars work and how to fix common
problems that occur in cars. For specified work
different employees will be hired that have
experience and a ASE certificate in that field.
Helping the
Community
• My business has the responsibility of
putting safe reliable cars onto the road as
well as safe drivers. The community
should know that my business does
honorable work and takes pride in the
quality of services offered. With these
responsibilities in mind my business plans
on funding a series of don’t text and drive
as well as don’t drink and drive billboards
and online ads. By providing the funds to
complete these actions my business will
gain popularity among the community
which in turn will increase sales.
Start Up Cost
• My business will have an expected startup cost of around $450,000 with the
mojority of it coming from the purchase of a building in a respectable area that
meets the requirements of my business needs. Where the rest of the cost is coming
from essential items needed to run the business.
Building Cost $300,000
Diagnostic machine $10,000
Respactable tool set $15,000
Three Lifts with instillation $8,300
Insurance $4,000
Rental fees $6,000
Product displays $3,000
Staff $100,000 Total = $450,00
Target Audience
• The target audience for my company includes people ages 16 and up, this
age group is decided because 16 years old is when people can get their
driver's license. Although 16 is when you can drive advertisements will be
focused more towards adults in the age group of 3050 because adults
normally take responsibility when it comes to the work/repairs done to their
kids' car. My business will look for people who are interested in cars or car
repairs, online ads will be based on peoples searches such as the search for
“how to change your oil” this will give us the best chances at new customers
because the ads are almost guaranteed to be relevant in the persons mind at
the time the ad is seen. People who are in need of car repairs or want to
upgrade their cars will be those who become our customers, this is because
our business will provide the services which those people need or have a
interest in.
Advertising Plan
• To advertise my business I plan on using social media apps along with
billboards along the road/highway. To utizlize social media ads to their max
potential creating an algorithm will be important. Althogh the algorithm
may not be perfect at first having one in place with increase not only the
success of the ads but the success of the business. The billboards will be
placed along the highway mainly near the exits that lead on the street
where my business is located. The billboards should have a positive effect on
the turnout of customers as if the customer has a problem at that exact
moment then they are most likely to follow the billboard and come to my
shop.
