    This study aimed to form a biodegradable 
    plastic made of cassava starch . Specifically, it 
    seeks answers to the following questions:
    1. What proportion of the cassava starch and 
    glycerine is more appropriate for biodegradable 
    plastic?
    2. What are the characteristics of the biodegradable 
    plastics in terms of:
    a) Texture
    b) Transparency
    GOALS/EXPECTED OUTCOMES/HYPOTHESES

    The biodegradable plastic made from cassava 
    starch has the same capability as to the common 
    plastic.

    HYPOTHESES:
    1.  The more appropriate combination of the 
    ingredient is 10 grams of cassava starch, 5mL of 
    glycerine, 5mL of vinegar and 40mL of water
    2. The biodegradable plastic’s texture is smooth 
    and its transparency is really transparent

    METHODS AND PROCEDURES
    PROCEDURES

    Preparing for the Experimental


    Setup
    Materials needed: 

    13 grams of cassava starch

    20mL of water

    6mL of glycerine

    6mL of vinegar

    Stove and butane gas

    6’6 inches aluminum foil

    Casserole

    Stirring rod/spoon

     For making the cassava starch the following materials are needed:

    Cassava               

    Knife

    Grater

    Bowls

    Clean Cloth

     
    RISK AND SAFETY
     This experimentation requires proper handling of 
    the materials, especially when cooking the 
    plastic. 

     DATA ANALYSIS

     Make a survey with a scale showing the quality 
    observed in the biodegradable plastic in terms of:
    a) Texture
    b) Transparency
     Then make a data table and graphical 
    presentation showing the results of the survey.
