• The main objective of the clear desk policy is to keep the desks/workplace/desktop clear at the end
of the day.
It improves data security as personal/confidential information gets locked away.
• Scope
• At the end of the working day all IVS employees are expected to clear their desk and to clear away
all office papers into locked desk drawers and filing cabinets.
• Clear Screen Saver Policy- Desktop
• Policy
• All employees must comply with the terms of this policy as they pertain to their specific job responsibilities.
• Changes to this policy require approval by the Board of Directors of IVS.
• Clear desks/workstations of all work material at the end of the day or when they will be left unattended for
extended periods during business days.
• Confidential materials include client data, passwords, financials, agreements, and any other materials you would
not want to fall into wrong hands.
• Clear Desktop policy
• Apply Microsoft Windows XP as a Screen saver.
• No Folder, word file, Pdf etc should be saved on Desktop.
• Every one should work only through server.
• Guideline:
• Clear desk and to clear away all office papers into locked desk drawers and filing cabinets.
• Security of drawers and cabinets: Lock all drawers and cabinets
• Sensitive information in common areas: Common areas should be secured
• Do not print copies of information from the computer systems if it is not necessary
• Undertake routine destruction wherever possible
