INTRODUCTION

– Kota Kinabalu was once known as the town of Jesselton, the sixth city in
Malaysia on 2nd of February 2000
– Kota Kinabalu Municipal Council had been renamed as Kota Kinabalu City Hall
– Implementation of 4P strategy which is Perkhidmatan (services) Pembersihan
(cleaning), Penguatkusaan (enforcement) and Pembangunan (building)
– Enforced twenty-six (26) Local Government Act, four (4) Ordinans and one (1)

Scopes
– To ensure the processing of infrastructure plan and maintenance services
received a positive review
– To ensure that the policy and planning applied is both environmentally and
human friendly.
– Cooperate with the authorities related with the control of land work, manage
and improve drainage plans, road maintenance and other infrastructure
– Held conferences with other departments in DBKK regarding the technical
matters which encourage in producing competent internal

– Observe the work handled by each units in the Engineering Department.


– Record data of references from the letters and/or plans submitted.
– Review literatures given on the sewerage treatment processes involved and
handled by DBKK.
– Make a brief weekly report including photos as prove after every inspections
and report to personnel involved.
– Record damages that was seen such as pipeline leakage and external damage
on buildings.

– Briefing protocols
– Inspection had been conducted on a private development’s sewerage treatment
plant to identify the maintenance and repairing that needed to be conducted
before it was handled over by DBKK
Week 2: 15 July 2019 – 19 July

– Information review on the plants handled by DBKK

Week 3: 22 July 2019 – 26 July

– Assessments and evaluations are made at the former Kota Kinabalu High Court
– suggestions of repairing, maintenance and construction of additional feature

– inspections made are to ensure that it had been done based on the report submitted

– Inspection of the building of marketing ground for the hawkers who are
currently using the parking space as a hawking place

– Operations of patrolling at Kota Kinabalu Central Business District (KK CBD)
– Nippon Paint also joined in the operations and took the opportunity to promote
their brand upon the launching of The Repainting Campaign
Week 8: 26 August 2019 – 30

– Operations of patrolling at KK CBD will continues at Sinsuran
– conditions of each buildings and notify the owners that they needed to take action
on the damages on their properties
– owners failed to comply based on the notice, officers in charge from DBKK will issue a
compound daily and will be doubled each time.
– If the case were to be taken by the Department of Legislation, the owner(s) will have
to undergo a community work service around the area for a duration of three (3)
months.

– Problem Statement
– Limitations of each wastewater treatment processes had become a problem, hence,
hybrid treatment processes are invented to tackle the problem
– Objectives
– To identify the suitability of hybrid treatment process as a better
alternative and,
– to study the efficiency removal of COD, TSS and BOD between hybrid
treatment process (HAST) and Sequence Batch Reactor.
