DENGUE HAEMORRAGIC FEVER (DHF)
Diet rules for DHF(dengue haemorragic fever) disease
•Diet Principle
Giving a diet in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever is carried out
in stages and then improved according to the ability of the
sufferer.
•The Phase I diet is given after the acute phase is topped and
there is no gastrointestinal bleeding. Patients are given regular
food every three hours and are still given parenteral food to meet
their fluid and energy needs.
•The Phase II diet is given after body temperature stabilizes. Food
is given in small portions and soft consistency.
•Phase III is given after the temperature of the body is stable and
hepato-slomen is lost. The consistency of the food given is soft or
usually depends on patient tolerance, but the capacity of the fiber
remains limited.
•Purpose of the Diet
Provide enough food and fluids to repair damaged body tissues
and prevent bleeding complications.
•General dietary requirements
The dietary requirements of DBD sufferers are :
•Easy to digest, small portions, and often given
•Energy and protein are sufficient according to the ability
of the patient to receive it. Factors stress depends on
the presence or absence of complications. The ratio of
calories to nitrogen is 150: 1
•Low fat which is 10-15% of the total energy
requirements which are gradually increased to suit the
needs.
• Recommended types of food and not recommended for
DHF linkages.
Food are recommended for DHF disease :
1. Orange
This orange fruit is the best fruit for DHF sufferers. Grated
oranges contain lots of energy and vitamins that help the digestive
system, increase urine, and increase anti-body to recover quickly.
2. Papaya leaves
Doctors and experts agree that papaya leaves are a very good
food for DHF patients. You only need to pick fresh papaya leaves,
blend them, and filter the water. The patient must consume two
tablespoons of this juice morning and night, every day.
3. Porridge
When you get dengue, porridge is a recommended food. The
soft pulp texture will be easy to swallow and digest by the body.
4. Herbal tea
The best way to recover from DHF is to consume herbal tea.
Tea made from ginger and cardamom can help treat this fever.
5. Coconut water
Patients must consume coconut water to fight dengue virus.
Coconut water can refill the content of electrolytes and ions lost in
the body.
6. Vegetable and fruit juices
Experts state that organic fruit and vegetable juices can
supplement the nutrients needed by the body and make DBD
sufferers recover quickly. It is recommended to consume carrot
juice, cucumber and green vegetables. As well as fruit juices that
contain vitamin C which can maintain the immune system and are
important for forming adrenal hormones.
Fruit such as strawberries, guava, kiwi, and papaya that help
produce lymphocytes. Lemon juice can also help you get rid
of toxins that will be released with urine. this will make DBD
sufferers feel better.
7. Foods rich in protein
Foods that are rich in protein such as eggs and milk are very good
for DHF sufferers. Fish and chicken are also good as foods that
help fight viral viruses that develop in the body.
8. Soup
Soup will provide strength and help DHF sufferers fight pain in
parts of the body such as joints. Soup also helps rebuild the
appetite of people with dengue fever.

Food not recommended for DHF disease :

•It is recommended that DHF patients should avoid consuming
dark brown water such as soda or chocolate milk. Intake of red
and dark chocolate is avoided to get rid of misunderstandings
between blood and fluids consumed when the patient vomits.
•Avoid foods that are acidic because they can irritate the stomach
and make patients sick
5. The right amount of diet for DHF disease.
The amount of food also does not need to be too
confused. While DHF sufferers still have a good
appetite, giving them a normal portion of food is a
legitimate measure. It's different if you lose your appetite
and have nausea and vomiting. Better, give a small
portion of food, but in a frequency that is often so that
the stomach is more comfortable.
Then, multiply your fluid intake, especially drinking
water. If you have been attacked by dengue, the advice
is no longer "enough", but "multiply". You
