Control Licensing
A system-wide controller licensing system allows you to estimate:
A single licensable DST size for the entire system.
The number of licensable DSTs used for control and those used for
monitoring.
The number of DSTs that are involved with advanced unit management.
License bundles containing the license features are assigned to the
ProfessionalPLUS node. Controller Redundancy and Serial I/O Driver licenses
are assigned to the controllers.

Monitor DSTs
Modules are automatically classified as either Control or Monitor.
Monitor DSTs - A module is classified as Monitor if it includes one or more of the
following function blocks:
ABS - Absolute Value
ADD - Add
AI - Analog Input
ALM - Alarm Detection
ARTHM - Arithmetic
CMP - Comparator
DI - Discrete Input
DIV - Divide
FFAI - fieldbus Analog Input
FFARTHM - fieldbus Arithmetic
FFINT - fieldbus Integrator

Advanced Unit Management DSTs
System-wide licenses are assigned to the Pro+ workstation.
In the case of system-wide application licenses, batch applications are loaded on an
Application Station. When downloaded, the licensing will be checked on the Pro+
before downloading proceeds.

FISHER-ROSEMOUNT SYSTEMS Course 7009 -- Rev 3 - 4/15/01 DeltaV Overview
Batch Licensing
A system-wide batch application licensing system provides three batch system
capability levels.
DeltaV Basic Batch includes
Batch Executive
DeltaV Advanced Batch includes
DeltaV Basic Batch
Batch History
Soft-Phase Server
DeltaV Professional Batch includes
DeltaV Advanced Batch
Campaign Manager
For most DeltaV batch systems, it is recommended that Batch Executive and the
Batch Historian run on separate, dedicated Application Stations. Campaign
Manager and Soft-Phase Server must run on the same node as the Batch Executive.
DSTs are counted as Advanced Unit Management DSTs.

Identify Controller
Identify State — A specific Controller M3/M5 is located on the DeltaV network.
Identify is a property of the Controller that can be used to located a specific controller
when multiple controllers are part of a DeltaV Network. Identify can be performed on
Decommissioned and Commissioned Controllers.
Note: Automatically terminate the identify state by closing the Identify pop-up dialog
box or selecting Stop Flashing on the controller’s Properties window.

Drag ‘n Drop
Commission a controller and auto-sense the I/O cards from the DeltaV Explorer
by selecting the Decommissioned Controller CTLR-001C68 and Drag ‘n drop it
onto the Control Network or existing placeholder. A Properties window appears
requesting various information.

Commissioning a Controller &
Auto-Sensing I/O Cards
Commission — The act of making a controller an active member of a DeltaV
Control Network. A TCPIP address is automatically assigned by the Professional
Plus Workstation at commissioning. This can be performed from the DeltaV
Explorer or Configuration Assistant application. The last step of commissioning
will prompt the user with a question to Auto-Sense I/O cards.

Commissioning a Controller &
Auto-Sensing I/O Cards
A Controller Properties pop-up window appears with the General tab selected.
Perform entering the following:
Name: A user-defined name with a maximum of 16 characters
containing at least one alpha character. It may also contain $, -, or _.
Description: An optional user description of no more than 48 characters
appearing in the DeltaV Explorer. It is for information only and not used
by the controller.
Enable network redundancy for this node: Checking the box Enables
the secondary control network for the node. Leaving the box unchecked
does not enable network redundancy.
Controller is redundant: A Simplex Controller will be grayed out. A
checked box indicates the controller is redundant.

Commissioning a Controller &
Auto-Sensing I/O Cards
When the above fields have been completed, click the OK button to continue. The
last step in commissioning the controller permits you to Auto-sense the I/O cards
for the controller.
Auto-Sense I/O cards — Clicking the YES button causes the controller to scan its
I/O sub-system and identify the card types and carrier slots where the I/O cards are
installed. By clicking the NO button, the controller WILL NOT scan the I/O sub-
system for installed I/O cards but will continue to commission itself. Auto-sense
can be done at any time from the DeltaV Explorer.
