This document discusses the physical characteristics, habitat, diet, and unique traits of rhinoceros species found in Indonesia. It notes that rhinoceros are large, four-legged herbivorous mammals with one or two horns on their nose. They can reach 1.8 meters tall and weigh up to 2,300 kilograms. Sumatran rhinos live in dense forests and prefer lowland areas with many low-growing food sources. Javan rhinos eat a variety of plants, shoots, twigs, and fallen fruits. Unique traits of Javan rhinos include males having a horn called "Cula Melati" while females have a lump, and they maintain their body temperature and eliminate parasites by breaking

Rhinoceros is a four-legged bulky herbivorous mammals with
one or two horns located right above its nose. We may know them by the short version of their name “Rhino”. They are considered to be one of endangered animal by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). In Indonesia, we can find them in Sumatera and Java, especially in Ujung Kulon National Park. Rhinoceros have a large and muscular body with four short legs. They have a big head and a very short neck. The position of their head is lower than their back which makes the head seems like facing downward all the time. There is one or two horns on their head located on their nose which became their unique feature. It is made of keratin, the same substance that build up hair and fingernails. Their body is covered with a thick layers of collagen. The pregnancy period of a Rhinoceros is different from one species to another, but mostly it took up to 18 months for the baby to be born. A full grown Rhinoceros can reach the height of 1,8 m with approximate weight of 2.300 kg. They can run at the speed of 50 to 55 km/h. They can live up to 50 years. They have a short range sight but they have a good hearing and smelling. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

RHINO HABITAT TheSumatran Rhino Habitat includes lowland swamp forests to hilly forests, although generally these endangered species are very fond of forests with very dense vegetation. They prefer lowlands, especially in secondary forests where there are many low-growing food sources. Sumatran rhinos live in nature in small groups and are generally solitary. RHINO FOOD Javan rhinos are herbivorous animals and eat a variety of species of plants, especially shoots, twigs, young leaves and fallen fruit. Most plants favored by this species grow in sun-exposed areas: in clearing forests, bushes and other types of vegetation without large trees. The rhinoceros drops the young tree to reach its food and takes it with its upper lip that it can hold. The Javan Rhino is the most adaptable eater of all species of rhinos. Rhinos are thought to eat 50 kg of food per day. Like the Sumatran rhinoceros, this rhino species needs salt for its food. The general mineral search site is not in Ujung Kulon, but the Javan rhinoceros is seen drinking sea water for the same nutrients needed. RHINESTIC UNIQUE The male Javan rhinoceros has a horn called CULA MELATI The female Javan rhino is only a lump called CULA BATOK The Javan rhinoceros adapts to the environment to maintain body temperature and eliminate parasites in its body by BREAKING Javan rhino is an animal that tends to be SOLITER (loner), except when taking care of children and lust.
