PEST ANALYSIS
POLITICAL
 Governance System= The previous governance system in
Malaysia has served its purpose for the long time and it will
not change in the process even though it may throw up leaders
that can lead divergent policy making from the historical norm.
 Changing policies with new government= Studying the current
trends it seems that there can be a transition of government in
Malaysia in next election. Maxis has to prepare for this
eventuality as it will lead to change in governance priorities of
Services sector.
PEST ANALYSIS

POLITICAL
 Taxation policies= Over the last two decades Maxis has
benefitted from lower taxation policies throughout the
western hemisphere. It has resulted in high profits and
increasing spending in the research and development. The
increasing inequality in Malaysia can lead to changes in the
taxation policies. Secondly local governments are also looking
into Communications Services specific taxation policies to
contain the carbon footprint of the Services sector.
PEST ANALYSIS

ECONOMICS
 Inflation rate= The easy liquidity in the market post the
great recession of 2018 will lead to increasing inflation
in the Malaysia economy.
 Skill level of workforce in Malaysia market= The skill
level of human resources in Malaysia is moderate to
high in the Services sector. Maxis can leverage it to not
only improve services in Malaysia but also can leverage
the skilled workforce to create global opportunities.
PEST ANALYSIS
SOCIAL
 Different culture people have problem in
communication. So the customer service of maxis
had solution e.g. Chinese customer will conduct by
Chinese customer service.
 Media that can promote maxis can attract customer
PEST ANALYSIS
TECHNOLOGY
 Technology transfer and licensing issues for Maxis= In the
Services sector there is no strong culture of technology transfer
and companies often are reluctant to transfer or license
technologies for the fear of creating competitors out of
collaborators.
 Latest technology based innovations implemented by
competitors of Maxis= This can provide a good insight into what
the competitors are thinking and where Communications
Services business model future is.

Conclusion

 Toconclude that above analysis, I will say that the

High Speed Broadband initiative ( HSBB) service
provided by Maxis is basically bring satisfaction to
the customers. Other than that, in the perspective
of doing business, the promotion and distribution
channel is well build and utilized. What is more,
the high price and some unsatisfactory service
features such as the quota limit should see some
improvements.
