Gomes What is Nearpod? ● Nearpod is an instructional platform that merges formative assessment and dynamic media for collaborative learning experiences. ● It can be easily accessed from any phone or computer making it extremely accessible to any student or teacher ● Teachers can share a live lesson that students can join by putting in a code, or teachers can send out assignments for students to do on their own time Uses in the Classroom ● Teachers can find or create lessons on Nearpod and easily integrate them into the classroom ● Students can be given online assignments through Nearpod that they can complete on their own time. The teacher can watch their progress through the app/website ● Teachers can control live lessons that connect to every students’ device ● Teachers can stay connected with their students by having them take polls, do formative assignments, collaborative boards, and game-based quizzes Student-Centered Integration ● Nearpod has many options to get the students engaged ● The teacher can choose to send a lesson to the students that they can go through on their own time. Then, the students can do a fun quiz at the end to show what they have learned ● A feature of Nearpod includes where teachers could have their students answer a poll. This allows the students feel in charge of their learning Design ● Nearpod can be integrated into any system like Google Classroom or Canvas as a link. Students can join the lesson that the teacher has planned for them using the code provided ● It can be easily navigated with bright and fun designs! ● The teacher can choose to make their own lessons from scratch or pick from the many already made lessons on the website ● These lessons can be changed to fit the needs of any classroom with various activities: ○ Quiz, poll, drawing, videos, open-ended questions, etc. Layout This is the home screen of the app. Multiple options are available!
