OPTIMUM OPTIC LEVELER ( USING LASER)
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:
All levelling instruments are very large and are very difficult to handle .
These instruments have some constrains such as large kit , sensitive etc…… and
can measure upto some certain distance .

PROBLEM STATEMENT :
To overcome this problem , our team decided to use monochromatic laser
source in the instrument . Since it is a monochromatic light , so it can travel over
long distances.

A Laser level system consists of :
(1) A Laser source which can be levelled . The generated laser
beam is projected by a rotating prism to form a horizontal reference
plane .

(2) A Photoelectric laser sensor ( or detector) which can be

moved up and down a levelling rod in order to measure the height
differences relative to the laser defined horizontal plane .

AND THEIR APPLICATIONS

In this paper , the 3 basic methods of measurement are studied –
Triangulation , Telemetry and Interferometry , covering their
main applications , advantages and disadvantages and
theoretically substantiating each of the methods . The results of
simulation routines for each method are shown along this work .
For the Triangulation method we made 2 experiments which
demonstrates the functioning of the method in measuring
distances and surfaces .
