PORTER’S FIVE FORCE MODEL
 BARGAINING POWER OF SUPPLIERS
High as there are so many pharmaceutical companies for them to have power over the hospital.
 BARGAINING POWER OF BUYERS
Individual patients have low bargaining power over the hospital because most of the decision
depends on the advice of doctors and other medical staffs
 THREAT FROM SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS
Low threats from substitute products as some people may not trust going to the other hospital
 RIVALRY AMONG THE EXISTING PLAYERS.
High because all hospitals cost the same price and most of the time the patients will be having
insurance.
 THREAT OF NEW ENTRANTS
Low because of high investment cost, capital requirement needed to compete, advance technologies
and specialized skills are needed.
