PORTER’S FIVE FORCE MODEL
BARGAINING POWER OF SUPPLIERS
High as there are so many pharmaceutical companies for them to have power over the hospital.
BARGAINING POWER OF BUYERS
Individual patients have low bargaining power over the hospital because most of the decision
depends on the advice of doctors and other medical staffs
THREAT FROM SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS
Low threats from substitute products as some people may not trust going to the other hospital
RIVALRY AMONG THE EXISTING PLAYERS.
High because all hospitals cost the same price and most of the time the patients will be having
insurance.
THREAT OF NEW ENTRANTS
Low because of high investment cost, capital requirement needed to compete, advance technologies
and specialized skills are needed.
