Meaning of Corporate Expectations

Every organization invests time and money in attracting,


recruiting and training employees. Hence, organizations
have several expectations from their employees. The
association between employers and employees is expected
to last for a long time which means that both the parties
have certain expectations and responsibilities to render. An
employer aims at finding the best match for their
company. Employers look for individuals who respect the
goals of the organization and try their best to assimilate
the same.

Importance of KSA

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) is an acronym


hinting at the attributes that an individual needs to possess in
order to be successful in a particular job. Usually, an employer
designs the KSA as a guideline to look for the best match for
the vacant position.

 Knowledge (Domain Knowledge, Specialized Knowledge,


General Knowledge)
 Skills (Technical, Functional and Behavioral)
 Abilities (Mental/ Emotional Abilities, Learning Abilities)
Elaborating on KSAs, the companies expect you to possess
and exhibit the following important traits and skills:

have expectations from your employer. Your expectations may
include:

 Sufficient training

 Clarity on job responsibilities, guidelines and expectations
 Fair and effective feedback from the supervisor

Corporate Grooming
Corporate Grooming includes the physical appearance, overall
personality and personal hygiene of individuals when they are part of
corporate setup. Corporate Grooming plays an important role in
enhancing one’s personality. It helps in portraying a positive image of
employees while professionally representing their business.

How can you ensure that you are well groomed to make a great
impression at your workplace? To achieve this, follow the below-
mentioned points:

 Maintain professional behavior.


 Ensure that you exhibit good manners and conduct all the time.
 Dress up professionally.
 Wear clean and well-ironed clothes.
 Don’t wear loud or bright colors.
 Don’t wear casual clothes.
 Be modestly dressed.
 Ensure that your clothes don’t smell bad.
 Don’t wear too many accessories like rings, earrings, chains,
necklaces, body piercings and bracelets.
 Wear formal shoes, preferably black or tan in color. Do not wear
casual shoes/sandals, no matter how expensive or new they are.
 Make sure that your formal shoes are well-polished and shiny.
 Wear comfortable and well-fitted shoes.
 Match the color of your belt with the color of your
footwear.
 Cover tattoos.
 Ensure that your hair is clean and styled well.
 Wear mild fragrance only.
 Maintain good oral hygiene.
 Always carry clean handkerchief or tissue paper.
 Do not smoke, chew gum or spit tobacco in public.
Do’s and Don’ts for Women
 Footwear must match with the colour of the belt and the handbag. Choose neutral
colors.
 Esp. with western formals, wear closed shoes or sandals.
 Do not wear loud makeup. Wear neutral lipcolors only. Avoid eye-makeup. Slight
kajal is fine.
 Do not use bright nailpaints. Choose neutral colors.
 Wear comfortable heels. Wear heels, only if you are comfortable walking in them.
Avoid pencil heels.
 Do not wear distracting accessories. Do not go overboard. Do not wear too many
jewellery items.
 Wear a conservative yet attractive hairstyle.
 Style your hair in a way that it is away and out of your face.
 Hair colour should be conservative. Keep it close to your natural hair color.
 You can opt either for Western (trousers & shirt, knee-length pencil skirt with shirt
and business suits) or Indian Formal Wear (Suits or sarees) based on your comfort
level.
