    PLUMBING SYSTEM

     Plumbing system of a building includes the water supply


    distributing pipes, the fixtures and fixture traps, the soil, waste
    and vent pipes; the house drain and house sewer the storm-water
    drainage; with their devices, appurtenances and connections all
    within or adjacent to the building.
    A 3-inch (76 mm) drain would
    require a 1½-inch (38 mm) vent. A
    2-inch (51 mm), 1½-inch or 1¼-
    inch (38 or 31.8 mm) drain would
    require a minimum 1¼-inch (31.8
    mm) vent, this being the minimum
    size allowed.

    SYSTEM
     The drain-waste-vent system, also known as the
    sanitary system is all of the plumbing in your home
    minus the water supply system. This includes the
    drainpipes, drains, and vents.

     Is the study and practice of mitigating the unwanted effects
    of potentially destructive fires.

    Types of Fire Protection


    1. Active fire protection- is a group of system that require some amount of action in
    order to work efficiently in the event of fire.
    2. Passive fire protection-is a group of system that compartmentalize a building
    through the use of fire resistance rated walls and floors, keeping the fire spreading
    quickly and providing time to escape for people in the building.
    Fire Resistance
     Is the property of materials or their assemblies that
    prevents or retards the passage of excessive heat, hot
    gasses or flames under conditions of use.
    Fire Resistance Material
    A fire resistant material is one that is designed to resist burning and
    withstand heat.
    Example
    • Bunker gear worn by firefighters
    Fire-Retardant Materials
     designed to burn slowly
    Examples
    • Mineral wool is a fibrous material
    • Brick
     A type of block used to build walls, pavements and
    other elements in masonry construction.
    • Concrete
    Is a composite material composed of fine and coarse
    aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement (cement
    paste) that hardens (cures) over time.
    • Glass
    Is a non-crystalline, often transparent amorphous solid,
    that has widespread practical, technological, and
    decorative use in, for example, window panes,
    tableware, and optics.
