NARRATIVE POETRY
◦ The word lyric comes from the Greek word rhein which
means lyre, a harp-like musical instrument used by poets in
Ancient Greece.
HAIKU
◦ It came from the Italian word sonetto, which means "a little
sound or song.“ It is a 14-line lyric poem with a certain
pattern of rhyme and rhythm.
IMAGERY
◦ refers to the sensation that language creates in the mind. They appeal to the
senses of sight, taste, touch, hearing, and smell.
