Reasons for Citing References

 It acknowledges the author or creator for their work.


 It helps avoid plagiarism.
 Allows others to locate the sources you have cited on your
work.
 It gives credibility to your work.
 It makes your work more believable and more trustworthy.

 Please note: While the American Psychological


Association (APA) manual provides many
examples of how to cite common types of
sources, it does not provide rules on how to cite
all types of sources.

 APA format structure:

 APA format example:

E-book is short for “electronic book.” It is a digital version of a book that can be read on a
