Globalisation of International Society
 United Nations intended as improved from UN but largely blocked by cold war
for its functioning.
 Soviet-American competition affected all aspects of world politics, the rough
balance of power between the two superpowers did help to secure a degree of
order, especially in Europe, where the military confrontation was greatest.
