Why I Choose This Topic

Play a role on the surface where i can visualize a conversation between the dreams
and walking life .Sometimes dreams represent a fulfill wish or a connection from life
and reality.The mysterious situation with uncertain out comes dissolve customary
demarcation between dream of the book of Sigmund Freud interested me for my
subject of study .Interested to research in the Dreams race highly symbolic
,containing both overt meaning ,manifest and underlying ,unconscious thought and
our unconscious wishes in disguise .Attempt to interpreting how art can
communicate with Freud theory and a ambition of my creative knowledge .

In art and in the spare of dream research ,dreams are regarded as a source of
mankind’s deepest wandering about human existence .Dreams operate freely in the
virtual world wit no corrective form external reality and so contain a deeper stratum
of the fermentation of meaning but the conscious mind.Escaping from the control
mechanism of rationality and reasons was of central importance of surrealist art
cultivation .A fragmentary collage of absurd and confrontational juxtaposition .In
literature the method is close to automatic writing there no attention of capital
letters in order for the text to flow.

Dreams and their interpretation have been an essential part of human development .Many ancient culture
believed that dreams were their main connection of the spiritual world. Aristotle was one of the one who first
associate dreams with the mind.he believed that it was impossible for Gods to communicate through dreams
because animals also dreams and god wouldn’t waste their time on them .Instead ,he thought dreams are
influence by our imagination after two thousand years later Sigmund Freud wrote a theory about the
interpretation of dreams .Freud theories become a relevant of way to understand to understand how our mind
works but surrealism that explored the depth of human psyche and explored to create art about subconscious
idea .A connection between psyche and creativity a inner relationship we all have with our environment the most
basic instincts of our species.

In 1919 Andre Breton spearheaded the artistic and literary movement that set the stage for surrealist film
making.As the frame of a French film come alive before our eyes ,we brace our self with the poetic script born out
of a romantic anecdote ,made out of child like memories ,strange colors, musical relics and a narrative that is hard
to pinpoint to a particular time Michael Gondry has broken again and again all preconception of love and its
different shapes .His interpretation of the novels he has adapted to the screen spectacular scenarios that turn an
ordinary date into an underwater encounter ,A picnic featuring both the sun and the moon or a honeymoon walk
around the clouds.

Dreams have long proved a fertile ground for human creativity and expression and no less so than in the visual
arts .Many and varied dreams so than in the visual arts. Many and varied dreams so important to religion and
myth there has emerged in the last few centuries since the birth of romanticism.
An exploration of the more personal dream world.Artist it link to the unconscious surface of desire ,guilt ,fear
and ambition to light the truth .Artist have been attracted to the challenge of giving form to something so visually
in tangible as a dream ,challenges taken up in many ways through the centuries ,more often than not there appears
the sleeping body itself ,with the dream element incorporated in a verity of ways ,common is for the dream
sequence to appear in a totally separate part of the image .As if projected on the wall of the sleeping mind .If we
see the Image Toyokuni image in the midst of the familiar floating cloud but also as emerging from nearby objects
or events of the day .

If we see the Henry Fuseli also common particular in the depiction of nightmare .Is for the figure of the dream to
simply appear as though in the room with the sleeper often directly upon the body it self .With the advent of
photography and the potential of double exposures ,we see also a different way of trying to capture that
intangibility of the dream image and the work of surrealist way they anticipate ,we see a different approach
entirely ,one which looks past the sleepers so focus solely on the imagery of the dream itself ,and in the process
perhaps giving a more true impressions of the strangeness and other worldliness which so often characterizes the
dream experience .

Influence of Western art

Its a Divine visions remained a popular challenge for centuries of western artists, who imbued the well worn
stories with ulterior meanings. The stuff of nightmares was a little interest to the Italian or French Renaissance
artists ,who favored neo- Platonic ideals of beauty until they encountered the disturbing fantasies of northern
painters like Hieronymus Bosch .The vision of Tundale (1520-30),attributed to Bosch’s followers ,is a typically
hallucinatory ,Boschain scene. Inspire by the medieval poem “The vision of knight Tondal” in which an errant night
dreams of his moral redemption after a vision of Hell,the paintings depicts a spectacular and grotesque hellscape
populated by monstrous creatures and graphic details. The works also takes on the idea of the nightmare as a
phenomenon that it visited upon the living as a warning to repent for .Indeed,in the lower left hand corner, the
sleeping sinner Tondal is seen experiencing the nightmare firstland .Although the strictures of morality remain
intact in The Vision of Tondal ,when e slumber ,the picture seems to suggest ,reason sleeps too. Enlightenment era
artists made political statements about the irrationality exemplified by the nightmare .

Fancisco de Goya’s “The Sleep of Reason Producer Monster” 1799 from his biting “Los Caprichos” series ,employs
the bad dream to criticize contemporary Spanish society ,Particularly pre -Enlightenment practice and superstitions
the artist felt held the country back back from modernizing .The central figure’s apparently peaceful sleep is
interrupted ,for the viewer at least ,by the predatory creatures -associated ,in Spanish folklore ,with evil
-that besiege him .Without the Enlightenment value of Reason ,Goya forcefully asserts ,evil wins .

The Theory Influence My Work

These dreams are characterized by lively ,bizarre events and strong sensational and emotions,This gray -zone state
occurs both during sleep onset and waking up,for reality it drawn into sleep and dreams into reality during the
walking up phase .These state glide from the conscious to the subconscious and from a collage of impulses
reminiscent of the clear sighted and able to pensive our fantasy world .The scientific method for mapping dreams
dissolve the old differences between neurology and psychology.Now it is possible to see the movement patterns in
the conscious mind and interpret the physiological signature of dream in the dreams in the brain.it is possible via
language to study the course of dream and their time intervals -but what still remains is to translate their visual
pictorial repertoire.Perhaps it is as the pioneering sleep researcher Michel Jouvent asserts that the very conception
of a transcendental world from the world’s mythologies to the concept of God ,has its origin of dreams? Dreams
According to Freud are expressions of repressed desire,a fear of death and a part of preparation to meet the
challenges of life ,but with in the framework of virtual world .

Concept Of My Art work And the Material Of Artwork

The attempt i am going to do in my thesis is to add a function of interpreting .Dreams are being capable of being
interpreted.,replacing it by something which fits in to the chain of our mental acts as a link having a validity and
importance equal to the rest. From Lay opinion has taken a different attitude through out the ages.its has
exercised its indefeasible right to behave inconsistently and through admitting that dream s are unintelligible and
absurd ,it can not bring it self to declare that they have no significance at all .Led by some obscure felling it seems
to assume that in spite of every thing ,every dream has a meaning ,though a hidden one ,that dreams are design to
take the place of some progress of thought and that we have only to undo the substitution correctly in order to
arrive at this hidden meaning .

When the analysis of dreams showed us that dream could be the fulfillment of wish ,our interest at first wholly
absorbed by the question of weather we had come upon a universal characteristic of inter penetration of
dreams .So i here i painted beginning of the series the freedom of dream , its also a fulfillment of wish but through
my master degree program i want to tell the story of our dream through the experience of our life .It will add the
emptiness , Journey of our life ,Prediction we feel in to our thought ,violence and fear ,modernity and
primitiveness in our mind. The clarity and the mystery, past and future ,History and mythology where we
connected in a simple line of dreams to interpretation.The reality in our subconsciousness it gives us a question of
our life to find a answer through this line or quest for answer,or wonder of our mortal life . In my thesis i want to
use this line using Freud theory and my artistic knowledge to tell my story .
