WHAT IS VRV SYSTEM?

 Variable refrigerant volume is an air-condition system

configuration where there is one outdoor condensing unit and
multiple indoor units.
 The Variable Refrigerant Volume System is a relatively new
technology. New VRV systems offer high levels of energy
efficiency, as well as flexibility.

INTRODUCTION

 The VRV system is a multi-split

type air conditioner for
commercial buildings that uses
variable refrigerant flow control to
provide customers with the ability
to maintain individual zone
control in each room and floor of
a building.

 The arrangement provides an

individualized comfort control,
and simultaneous heating and
cooling in different zones.

HISTORY

First launched in Japan in 1982, the VRV system has

been embraced by the world markets for over three
decades.
In 1990, the best in comfort with heat recovery
technology, the VRV air conditioner achieves heating
and cooling simultaneously with only one outdoor
unit.
Now, Daikin started the next generation VRV IV
system to reinforce there industry leadership.

PRINCIPLE
VRV systems are similar to the multi-split systems which connect one
outdoor section to several evaporators. However, multi-split systems turn
OFF or ON completely in response to one master controller, whereas VRV
systems continually adjust the flow of refrigerant to each indoor
evaporator. The control is achieved by continually varying the flow of
refrigerant through a pulse modulating valve whose opening is
determined by the microprocessor receiving information from the
thermistor sensors in each indoor unit. The indoor units are linked by a
control wire to the outdoor unit which responds to the demand from the
indoor units by varying its compressor speed to match the total cooling
and/or heating requirements.

WORKING
VRV is a technology that alternates the refrigerant volume in a
system to match a building's precise requirements. Only a
minimum amount of energy is required for a system to maintain
set temperatures, and ensure that it automatically shuts off when
no occupants are detected in a room. This unique mechanism
achieves more sustainability in the long run, as end users save on
energy costs while reducing their system’s carbon emissions.
With up to 64 indoor units connected to 1 outdoor unit, the VRV
system operates similar to a Multi-Split system. Each individual
indoor unit determines the capacity it needs based on the current
indoor temperature and requested temperature from the remote
control (set point).

ADVANCE FEATURES

VRV IV:
 Large capacity range (6 – 34 ton), up to 64 indoor fan coil units on one system
and up to 200% connection ratio
 Wide range of indoor units, including additional “mini-split” units
 Redesigned and optimized for low total Life Cycle Cost (LCC)
 All inverter compressors in all model sizes
 New configuration software allows full setup offsite with PC upload.
 Efficient overall system performance
 Excellent heating performance, up to 4.20 COP
 Automatic charge function
 Improved refrigerant leakage control

COSTING
Costing is system of computing cost of running the project by allocating
expenditure at various stages of operation.

Sr.No. Item Required Quantity MRP in Rs.

1 Compressor 2 2,000
2 Condenser 2 2,000
3 Split indoor 1 1,000
4 Fan 2 500
5 Metal sheet 2 1,500
6 Refrigerant(R22) 1 500
7 Travelling/Transport - 2,000
8 Other cost - 1,000

    Total = 10,500

ADVANTAGES

Advantages:
 Save energy
 Conserves space
 Offer a wide section of model
 Operate over a broad
temperature
 Provides superior design
flexibility
 Enhance ease of system

CONCLUSON

After testing and trial we had conclude that taking

different time and we see that out let temperature is
varying. We take trial for 30 min and we observed that
temperature is changes it is up to 240C degree as we set
by remote control of indoor unit which is sufficient for
human comfort. Also we get low temperature by
decreasing the temperature through remote control up
to 160C.
