Vshale Calculation • How to calculate Vsh? 1) Under ‘Templates’ tab, expand ‘other templates’ folder and create a copy of ‘fraction’ simply by Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v
Create a copy of the template ‘fraction’
Change its name to
‘Vsh’ (optional) 2) Input Wells right click ‘global well logs’ Insert global well log (cont) 3) A new well log will appear under ‘global well logs’
Right click and open ‘settings’ for the new well log created Change the name (eg Vsh) and under ‘template’ drop down menu, attach the ‘copy of fraction’ created in Step 1 4) Go to each well Right click Add empty ‘Vsh’ log to well Refer the GR data histogram for the specific well (to get the max and min value) 5) Right click at the ‘Vsh’ log created Calculator Insert Volume of Shale formula ENTER
After done for every well, toggle on the ‘Vsh’ log
at Global Well Log. 4) Right click at ‘reservoir’ Adjust ‘colors’ settings
5) Right click at ‘reservoir’ Calculator Insert cut-off value to differentiate between sand and shale ENTER
