The course is designed to help the students understand academic English better, develop the necessary
skills required for the TOEFL test – structure, listening, and reading, and provide them with guidance
throughout the entire TOEFL preparation process.

W h a t We D o?

IN this classroom, you will have to do a number of activities:

1. First, we focus is on improving your English skill. We will work on


your vocabulary building, critical listening and reading.
2. The second focus is on building TOEFL skills and test strategies to
help you get a good score. We help you get familiar with the kinds
of questions TOEFL asks.
3. There will be an effective practice or quiz of the skills at the end of
each session in the necessary skills required for the TOEFL test to
check your progress.
4. You will be given homework assignments to help you learn and
practice the concepts covered in class.
5. Finally, you will sharpen your skills by taking practice TOEFL tests
which is a great way to build test taking stamina and monitor your
improvement.

Class “attendance” and participation in this online facilitated course are measured by the
level and quality of students’ daily/weekly contributions to discussions, completion and
submission of assignments, and performance on assessments (on quizzes, pair/group
work, tests, etc.). Any student who misses 50% or more sessions without the permission
of the instructor or department is considered “not” participating sufficiently to pass the
course shall receive an “E” or fail grade for that course.
