(NSV)
OUTPUT OF NSV
.rbf file- for whole survey
data
.fis file - for lcms image
data
.pgr file – for video data
DATA PROCESSING:
ROMDAS SOFTWARE
VERSION-2.7.2.0/2.7.1.0
ROMDAS SOFTWARE

INPUT -OUTPUT OF NSV

OUTPUT - .RBF TO .MDB

.FIS TO .JPG
.PGR TO .JPG
Before processing follow this data
structure and path:
1.Romdas_x64

CALIBRATION
LCMS1
LCMS 2
SURVEY DATA
1. CALIBRATION
FOLDER- CONTAINS
CALIBRATION FILES 2. LCMS1-
OF LCMS (BOTH PUT .fis FILE
SENSOR), ODOMETER, BEFORE
LASER GEO, TPL AND PROCESSING THE
VEHICLE. DATA

4. SETUP-
3. LCMS2- IT CONTAINS ALL
IT CONTAIN THE INFORMATION
CONFIGURATION REGARDING THE
SURVEY SUCH AS
FILE WHICH NEED
KEYCODE, LRP, AND
DURING SURVEY
PROCESSING INFORMATION.
LAST DATA STRUCTURE OF ROMDAS_X64 IS
SURVEY DATA:
SURVEY DATA FURTHER CONTAINS-
a) AUDIO
b) DATA- PUT .rbf FILE INTO THIS WHICH AFTER
PROCESSING GIVE .mdb FILE
c) PHOTO- IN THIS ALL THE LCMS IMAGE AFTER
PROCESSING COMES INTO THIS ONLY.
d) VIDEO- PUT .PGR FILE WHICH AFTER PROCESSING
GIVES ALL THE VIDEO IMAGES.

DATA INTEGRATION:
PREREQUISITE- SELECT THE DATA TYPE ONLY
WHICH IS COLLECTED DURING THE SURVEY.
Check the .mdb file obtained after processing of .rbf file
Steps for data integration
1.select data type (EXAMPLE-
Geometry data, lcms data, video data)
2. SELECT GPS COORDINATES,
3. select survey data
4. integrate the data
5. prepare lcms image as video data
for rating of LCMS images.
VIDEO RATING (SECOND STEP OF ROMDAS DATAVIEW)
NOTE: IF SURVEY FILE NOT INCLUDE VIDEO LOGGING DATA
THEN SKIP THIS STEP.
STEP-1 EDIT CAMERA ORIENTATION
STEP-2 CONFIGURE SET UP AND SURVEY DATA
FOLDER LOCATIONS
SELECT THE FOLLOWING PATH
1. ROMDAS_X64 SET UP
2. ROMDAS_X64 SURVEY DATA

VIDEO MEASUREMENT CALIBRATION

1. CONDUCT CALIBRATION
2. EDIT VIDEO CALIBRATION DATA
CONDUCTING VIDEO CALIBRATION DATA:
EDIT VIDEO CALIBRATION DATA
AFTER CLOSING ABOVE WINDOW ANOTHER SMALL
WINDOW POP UP:
CLICK ON ‘YES’ NEXT WINDOW WILL APPEAR IN WHICH INPUT
THE CALIBRATION ID
NEXT PERFORM THE VIDEO RATING: IN THIS ONE CAN DEFINE
KEYCODES AND RATE THE LCMS AND VIDEO IMAGES
THIRD STEP OF ROMDAS DATAVIEW: SOFTWARE IS TO
CRETAE AND POPULATE THE KEYCODE EVENT TABLES.
CLICK ON ‘NO’- IF PERFORMING SURVEY FOR FIRST TIME OTHERWISE ‘YES’ THEN
ANOTHER DIALOG BOX APPEARS
1.TO ORGANISE SURVEY RATING DATA IN THE dt_keycode_raw
(dt_event_description) SELECT SURVEY RATING AS SHOWN IN
ABOVE WINDOW.

2.TO ORGANIZE THE VIDEO RATING DATA SELECT VIDEO

RATING OPTION.
NOTE: IF THE DATABASE CONTAINS SURVEY AND VIDEO
RATING DATA THEN PERFORM THE BOTH PROCESS.

NOTE: TO VERIFY THE ABOVE CHECK THE DATABASE OBJECTS

AS SHOWN BELOW.
FIFTH STEP OF ROMDAS DATAVIEW SOFTWARE IS GIS MAPPING:
NOTES: CREATE THE GIS LAYER USING GIS MAPPING ONLY FOR THOSE DATA
TYPE WHICH CONTAINS THE GPS COORDINATES SUCH AS LRP, VIDEO, KEYCODE,
GPS PROCESSED DATA TYPES.

STEPS FOR CRETAING GIS LAYER IS IN NEXT SLIDE.

STEPS TO CREATE GIS LAYER

STEP-1 GO TO DATABASE TOOLS- CLICK ON

‘MAKE NEW LAYER FROM COORDINATE DATA’

STEP-2 :FTER STEP 1 A DIALOG BOX APPEARS IN

WHICH PUT ALL THE DETAILS OF LAYERS ( SUCH
AS LAYER NAME, LAYER TYPE, PROJECTION, UNIT,
DATA TABLE OF WHICH ONE WANT TO CREATE
LAYER (GPS, LRP,KEYCODE, VIDEO DATA TYPAE),
LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, FIELDS TO INCLUDE, DATA
GROUP ON, SHIFT SHAPE BY).

NOTE: DATA GROUP ON- SURVEY_ID, CHAINAGE

START, SWITCH GROUP, EVENT, EVENT
DESCRIPTION FRO THE KEYCODE, LRP AND VIDEO
DATA TYPE.
Note: to customize any layer double click on that layer then vector-keycode dialog box
will appears in which different tabs are available.
Note: to customize the layer different tabs such as layer, section, renderer, tab are there,
but to use renderer tab always use the WIZARD option for changes.
Note: to save the layers- first is to save as database layer highlight the layer name in the
legen
SAVING MAP LAYERS

1. TO SAVE AS DATABASE LAYER- SELECT THE LAYER NAME FROM THE LEGEND
PANEL(PRESENT AT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MAP VIEW WINDOW) THEN SELECT THE
DATABASE TOOL DROP BOX AND CHOOSE ‘SAVE AS DATABASE LAYER’.

2. TO GO SAVE – SELECT SAVE ALL LAYERS, THEN SAVE PROJECT TO ENSURE ANY
CHANGES MADE ARE KEPT.

3. SAVE AS PROJECT: ONCE ALL THE LAYERS HAS BEEN CUSTOMIZED IT IS NECESSARY
THAT THE MAP BE SAVED AS PROJECT. TO DO THIS CLICK ON DATABASE TOOL DROP
BOX AND SELECT SAVE AS PROJECT.

ONCE THE PROJECT HAS BEEN SAVED CLOSE THE VIEW MAP WINDOW AND PROCEED
TO PLAYING ROMDAS DATA.

SAME PROCESS IS DONE TO CREATE THE LAYERS FOR DATA TYPE SUCH AS RUTTING,
CROSS SLOPE, RAVELING WHICH DO NOT GPS COORDINATE BUT THIS ALL SHOULD BE
DONE THROUGH THE ‘EXPORT SHAPE FILES’ OPTION
SIXTH STEP OF ROMDAS DATAVIEW SOFTWARE IS TO ‘DEFINE CHART
ENUMERATION DETAILS’
PURPOSE: TO DEFINE THE EVENT ENUMERATION AND OTHER DISPLAYS
OPTIONS OF THE GRAPHICAL DATA CHART.
Important points on chart enumeration:

1. the main field to focus are

a) enumdefinition- to set limit of events
b) BandLocPct- to define the position of the graph in the chart (range-0 to
100)
c) BandHeightPct- to define the size of the graph in the chart (range -0 to 100)
