Company’s Introduction (NISHAT):
The company was founded in 1951.
The net export of the Company is about to Rs. 35.931
billion (US$ 344.744 million).
The production plants of the company include spinning,
weaving, treatment, stitching and power generation.
Spinning department’s Introduction:

“The manufacturing method of yarns from the
textile fiber is called spinning. Spinning consists
of twisting the drawn strands of fibers to form a yarn,
even if the process of drawing is colloquially
described, twisting and winding on the bobbins”.
Role of Spinning Department:
The spinning is the most important part of Nishat
textile mills since it is the first step in fabric
development.

This research work is based on the spinning
department of Nishat Textile Industry. The
material and literature is taken from different
sources like books, magazines, Electronic
journals and websites etc. Then, we analyzed
which are the most important factors and took
some experimental results. Further, this data is
discussed in the form of report and made some
suggestions and finally concluded the result.
METHODOLOGY
Working Principle
• Spinning process in Nishat works on

principle by passing the cotton over
cylinders each of different diameter and
having different velocity.
• There are 3 cylinders working
simultaneously to make yarn out of cotton
and the middle cylinder is more than other
two to produce a proper strand of yarn.
• First cylinder convert the cotton into the
biggest bales and last two convert it into
single strands of yarn or single fiber.

• The research project showed that there are many

factors by which we can improve productivity, but our
emphasis was on one of the most important factor
which yielded very important results.
