    Rizal first set foot in Singapore
    in 1882 on his way to pursue his
    studies in Spain. He is known to
    have visited the Singapore
    Botanic Gardens, not once but
    three times, as well as the
    erstwhile palaces of the Rizal’s journey to Colombo, Sri
    Maharajah of Johor and the Rajah Lanka was important for him
