    aims of education are teaching
    critical thinking, production of
    knowledge, development of
    individual and social identity,
    self creation. In postmodern
    education teachers just lead
    students to discover new things.

    The sociological perspectives is one that


    observes society through a lens without
    personal opinions. It generalizes the causes
    and actions of individuals into patterns and
    categories. However, it not only observes
    these patterns of society but also tries to
    explain such patterns or behaviors. .

    TYPES OF SOCIOLOGICAL
    PERSPECTIVES
     STRUCTURAL FUNCTIONALIST PERSPECTIVE:
    In sociology and other social sciences, structural functionalism
    serves as a thought school in which each institution, relation,
    position, and convention, that together make up society, has a
    purpose and each is essential for the sustained functioning of
    other members and society in general.

    INTERACTIONALISM
    The symbolic interactionalist
    perspective, also called symbolic
    interactionalism, encourages researchers
    to explore symbols and nuances, their
    meanings, and their influence on the
    interactive relationships of daily life.

    CONFLICT THEORY
    It argues that when assets, power and social
    reputations are divided unfairly across sections of
    society, then disputes develop and these conflicts
    form the source of social change. Power may be
    viewed in this sense as the control of productive
    capacity and acquired riches, the influence over
    political and social institutions, and the social

    Sociological perspectives assist us in
    better understanding ourselves. People
    perceive society through their restricted
    experience of a tight circle of a kin,
    acquaintances, and colleagues if they do
    not have a sociological perspective.

    and mentally separate ourselves from our
    limited experience, allowing us to understand
    the connection between personal worries and
    societal problems. It allows us to see how our
    own routines and activities relate to the

    The social dimension of education goes far beyond


    interpersonal relationships and developing the social
    skills which will support students throughout their
    lives. On the other hand, education encourages
    people to examine the places where a society may
    need improvement.

    The Importance of Social Dimension Of
    Education

    1. Builds School-Community Relationships- A school is an


    integral part of the community. What is taught in a classroom
    affects students, their parents, teachers, staff, and leaks out into the
    rest of the community.
    2. Reduces Social Inequality- Social dimension meaning extends
    beyond classroom boundaries. To diminish social inequality in the
    outside world, educators must provide equal opportunities for all
    students inside school walls.

    3. Supports the Diversity of Learners- Not all students have
    the same backgrounds, the same beliefs or the same life goals.
    Education needs to be flexible and take diversity into account.
    4. Teaches Social Responsibility- Although school should
    preserve collective ideals of peace and order in a society, it is
    also an environment where educators can address areas
    requiring social change. Students must become aware of social
    problems in their world - including human rights, economic
    distribution, and social policy - in order to become proactive
    adults who instigate change.
