Geometric Sequence
SEQUENCE
A geometric sequence is a
sequence where each term after the
first is obtained by multiplying the
preceding term by a nonzero constant
called the common ratio.
Arithmetic Sequence is a sequence where each term after
the first is obtained by adding the same constant, called the
common difference.
Common Difference is a constant added to each term of
an arithmetic sequence to obtain the next term of the
sequence.
Geometric Sequence is a sequence where each term
after the first is obtained by multiplying the preceding term
by a nonzero constant called the common ratio.
Common Ratio is a constant multiplied to each term of a
geometric sequence to obtain the next term of the sequence.
Finite sequence is a function whose domain is
the finite set { 1, 2, 3, …, n }. They have a first
and a last term.
Infinite sequence is a function whose
domain is infinite set { 1, 2, 3, …}. A sequence
that goes on forever, indicated by three dots
following the last listed number.
State whether each of the following sequences is
geometric or not. If it is, find the common ratio.

3. -5, -3, -1, 1,3,…
