USING ‘HOW MANY’ AND ‘HOW MUCH’

We use ‘how many’ and ‘how much’ to ask for something in a


certain amount.

We use ‘how many’ to ask about countable nouns.

We use ‘how much’ to ask about uncountable nouns.

There are four bags.


Using ‘How Much’
How much salt do you need?
I need a teaspoon of salt.

How much sugar do you need?

I need 2 cubes of sugar.

Amelia’s Classroom
In Amelia classroom there are a lot of desks and chairs. There is a clock
on the wall above the blackboard. There are twenty five students in
the class. There are thirteen boys and seventeen girls. There are four
brooms at behind the door, students use it to clean the classroom.
There are two books on the teacher’s table.
