Novacote manufacture a range of heat seal coating

suitable for application to Aluminium foil or
aluminium/polyester for lidding
White Polyester lidding
HS-61-095 or HS-122
- High mechanical stability
HIGH GLOSS PRINT PRIMER - High puncture resistance
VARNISH
- High tear strength
- Brilliant colour
- Single substrate packaging possible (polyester pots)
PRIMER HEAT SEAL COATING
HIGH GLOSS VARNISH PRINT PRIMER
- High bond strength smooth peel – non zippy
- Universal sealablity (PP,PS,PVC, APET)
- Good product resistance

Most of the white polyester films have a primed side to which can be applied either heat seal or inks. We
would recommend that the treated side is coated with the heat seal HS-61-095 or HS-122 and that a suitable
primer is used to aid ink adhesion. However, it is possible to use a primer to give good adhesion of the heat
seal to the polyester film. If the polyester film is to be sold in pre-cut magazines (to avoid static) the lid
should be needle embossed.
Paper/Polyester lidding
Novacote have developed a revolutionary primerless heat seal
HS-108 for the paper/polyester lidding market.

HIGH GLOSS VARNISH

- Reduced production costs as no primer - Wide sealing profile - Good hot tack - Good PRIMER
PRINT product resistance
Dual ovenable
HS-132 heat seal is applied directly to either 23µ chemically treated polyester or 12µ
chemically treated polyester which can subsequently be laminated to 12µ polyester.

Our heat seals have excellent

adhesion to APET, CPET
and PVC containers.

The heat seals have excellent resistance to

freezing, good hot tack for hot filled products and
exceptional sealablity through contamination.
Cookies and Biscuits
Novacote manufacture a range of primers and heat seal which can be applied to
OPP for use in the biscuit packaging industry .

For the film producer it is

possible to produce high
performance coated films

“Low temperature sealing

(<90°C) acrylic coatings are
also available”

For the film converter it is a cost

effective solution as standard OPP
film can be used.

HIGH GLOSS VARNISH

Novacote manufacture a range of varnishes for application to many different packaging films.
Some Novacote varnishes have replaced packages which had previously been laminated.
Comparisons of gloss of these varnishes on printed and unprinted surfaces show typical
reflectance figures of above 90% (60° angle) when applied at 2g/m², significantly higher than those
obtained with traditional varnishes.

furniture foil coatings
Novacote manufacture a range of
varnishes for application to printed
paper which can then be laminated to
wooden boards for use in the furniture
manufacturing industry.
The varnishes have superior resistance to
marking or discolouration as well as
excellent heat resistance properties.
Novacote also manufacture varnishes
which are compliant with E1
HIGH GLOSS VARNISH
(formaldehyde release) regulations.

films at an extremely low coat (<0.03g/m²) will
reduce static charges
Anti-mist coatings

Coatings which when applied to polyolefin films at

an extremely low coat (<0.03g/m²) will reduce the
tendency for misting of lidding films without
effecting sealing strengths.
