Course Introduction
• This course introduces students to the process of requirements engineering and helps them
understand important issues in requirements engineering.
• It will also help them to learn and apply the RE concepts for elicitation, specification, modeling,
and analysis of software requirements.
• The course will discuss concepts for systematically establishing, defining, and managing the
requirements for a large, complex, changing and software-intensive system, from technical,
organizational and management perspectives.
Course Objectives
❑ Understand the processes, concepts and standards related to
the discipline of software requirements engineering.

❑ Analysis and modeling of software requirements.

❑ Able to properly manage requirements (change and


traceability) and their quality concerns.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
o Prepare both functional and non-functional requirements along
with validation for a medium- size software system.
o Analyze software requirements for the development of cost-effective and
efficient technical solution.

o Document unambiguous requirements in Software Requirements


Specification (SRS) effectively.

o Able to model software requirements rigorously according to


the latest requirements engineering standards.
