contrary to my
character as a son of
the Catholic church”
Evidence and Arguments that
Rizal did not retract
There is no certificate
of Rizal’s Catholic
marriage to Josephine
Bracken
The retraction
established the act of
marriage between
Rizal and Bracken as it
was the condition for
them to be wedded
No masses were said for his soul or funeral that
was held for Catholics.
On December 30, 1896, after the execution,
Rizal’s body was brought to San Juan de Dios
Hospital and his remains were buried the same
day in the Paco cemetery in an unmarked grave.
Forge Document-Rizal’s family requested for the
original copy.
Documents presented were forgery
His beliefs and personality
Rizal did not retract, it would run counter to
everything he believed about the church
It would not be in line with his beliefs and
personality
