Architectural Requirements

 Site Regulations
The building should compliance with local city's and provincial regulations related
to height, design and LEED.
 Structural Integrity
Horizontal and vertical structure load bearing is necessary so that it does not lose
its integrity due to accidents.
 Building's Exterior Appeal
The building's exterior should be visually appealing by using materials and
designs that are meant for certain climate changes and risk -free structure.

Architectural
Requirements
Architectural Plan -
Floor Plan
The geographical map that includes buildings plan including the location
of  floors, doors, windows, accessibility and traffic pattern of a building.

Site Plan
This includes the birds eye view of the building and they are important
because they include the local and provincial building regulations
including parking space, landscape features, utility poles, power lines and
structural elements.

Elevation and Sectional Plan

The elevation plan is a drawing, 2D or 3D plan that shows the sides of the
building and it is mainly used to display the outside of the building.
Editors, A. (2019, February 12). Architecture 101: What is a section drawing? - architizer

Building Envelope

 Building Envelope is built to control the internal environment of

the building from the external environment. This can be achieved
by -
1. Air Barrier
2. Vapor Barrier
3. Thermal Insulation Barrier
Building Envelope also determines the appearance of a high-rise
building by determining the -
4. Profile Shape
5. Color

High-Rise General
Construction
Foundation

 Foundation: Usually the foundation

starts with concrete or steel piles, which
are cylinders of concrete buried deep
into the ground. These piles are
engineered differently based on
different variables like the hardness of
the ground, seismic activity in the area
etc.
 Usually, these pilings connect to
footings on which the building will rest.
 This stage of construction is the most
important stage because the
whole integrity of the building relies on
the foundation.

High-Rise
General Construction
Floor Construction

After the foundation is done, a crane is usually erected

to lift materials for this the next stage of construction.
Firstly, a "ground floor slab" made of concrete is
constructed to build the rest of the Highrise on top of.
Each floor is then constructed onto pillars and this
process is repeated until the final floor is constructed.
While each new floor is being constructed, different
trades are working on the floors below to install the
mechanical, electrical and plumbing requirements,
while also "sealing" the building, so it is water-proof.
Once a floor is sealed and all the windows are
installed, finish work like drywall can start.

High-
Rise General Construction
Finish work
 After the building is complete
the crane will be taken down so that
finish work can be completed
 The service tie-ins will be
completed.
 Usually, the surrounding area will be
landscaped with pavers, sidewalks
and/or trees.
