DCCCO is a cooperative established in 1968 in Dumaguete City, Philippines to help members meet educational needs. It registered with the Cooperative Administration Office in 1969 and became a multipurpose cooperative in 2011, offering loans and deposits. Its objectives are to increase members' income and savings through loans for development. In recent years it has undertaken programs in capability building, gender development, sustainable fisheries, poultry farming, cooperatives assistance, environmental protection, and disaster relief for members affected by COVID-19 and Typhoon Odette.

DCCCO

(Dumaguete Cathedral
Credit Cooperative)
DCCCO Multipurpose Cooperative was organized in
1968 as Dumaguete Cathedral Credit Cooperative
Union which aimed to help parents meet the
educational needs of their children. It was
registered in 1969 with the Cooperative
Administration Office, which is the predecessor of
the government agency now known as the CDA or
Cooperative Development Authority. DCCCO became
a CDA registered multipurpose cooperative in 2011.
It offers various financial products to its members
including legit loans and deposit instruments.
It was established on February 17, 1968 with
the following objectives and purposes:
(1)To increase the income and purchasing
power of the members; (2) to pool the
resources of the members by encouraging
savings and promoting thrift to mobalize
capital formation for development activities;
and (3) to extend loans to members for
provident and productive purposes.
On top of the credit activities and usual allied
services (Damayan Program, Medical/Dental
Assistance, and Donations/Cash Assistance),
the following programs and activities were
undertaken by DCCCO during the year:
 Capability building activities
• Self-care and self-awareness seminar for Area
Coordinators
• Rug making skills training for members

  Gender and Development Program activities


• Magna Carta for Women and Solo Parent Summit
• Semi-Annual GAD Summit
• GAD Valentine’s Day Celebration
• Women’s Month Celebration
• Webinar on Gender Sensitivity Training for Youth
• DCCCO 3rd Annual GAD Summit
Fish Right Program
• The BFAR, DCCCO and NORECO II signed a
Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement
(MOA) in order to foster substantial change
in fisheries management and climate
resilience in the areas of Southern Negros
and achieve an increase in fish biomass.
DCCCO’s role in this program is to provide
financial literacy and livelihood program as
well as access to credit.
Poultry Farming/Egg Production Training
• DCCCO turned over cash grant of P200,000.00 from the Provincial
Government of Negros Oriental to BAFAMA (Banilad
Manguilawood Fisherfolks Association) for their Poultry Farming
and Egg Production Program. DCCCO also conducted skills training
on Poultry Farming and Egg Production and inputs on starting and
maintaining a business to the members of this Association.

 Koop Kapatid Program


• DCCCO is currently assisting three (3) small cooperatives in Dauin,
namely: Baslay Highland Agriculture Cooperative (BASHACO),
Marait Dauis Bay-ang Anhawan Agriculture Cooperative
(MADABAYACO) and Lihok Bunga Neighborhood Agriculture
Cooperative (LIBUNACOOP). DCCCO provided these cooperatives
with technical assistance, training and capability building activities
for the growth, development and sustainability.
ELCAC Program
• The National Task Force-ELCAC is composed of 12 operational
clusters. As part of the so-called Whole-of-Nation Approach, each
cluster is composed of relevant government agencies.

Tree Planting/Coastal Clean-up/Coral Planting Activity


• This activity is done yearly to raise awareness on the importance of
environmental protection and conservation.

Support to Aflatuon Partner Schools and Brigada Eskwela


Celebration

Donation of Protective Garments


• At the height of the pandemic, DCCCO donated protective garments
to nine (9) barangays selected from the Provinces of Negros
Oriental, Negros Occidental and Cebu where DCCCO Branches are
located.
Giving of cash assistance to members who are
victims of COVID-19 and other serious illnesses

Donation to One-Coop NegOr-Managers’ Club


for victims of Typhoon Odette

 Giving of relief assistance to members who are


victims of Typhoon Odette
• All these programs and activities were
undertaken by our Cooperative despite the
insistence of the COVID-19 pandemic, which up
until now its end is not yet certain.
