This document describes a drill to improve first touch and controlling the ball away from defenders. The drill involves players in groups of 4 or more, with one player as a marker defending while others pass the ball. Players must receive the ball with their first touch and move it away from the marker, then pass. Coaching points include using awareness, deciding touch surface, moving towards the ball, and withdrawing pace on contact to control the ball away from the defender. The goal is to complete 10 consecutive passes.
