located in road no-14 Banjara
hills , Hyderabad –500034
It was done in the year 2009
ORIENTATION: NORTH

ACCESS TO THE SITE :The site
can be access from road
number 14,which is
connected with road
number 3.
CLIMATE :  ( TROPICALLY WET
AND DRY CLIMATE)
The location is very hot during
the month of march to june and
receive peak mansoon rainfall
during  july to september and
dry in november to february
with WARM DAYS AND MILD
EVENINGS

CROSS VENTILATION:

As the apartment name "Cross winds


apartments" indicates the type of
building design. The cross ventilation
factors has been achieved by the unique
construction techniques and the effects
of nearly constructed natural landscape
and as well as the pool as beautiful water
body inside the building.

Due to the cross ventilation throughout


the building because of the unique design
the interior contributes with:    

        •Helping to moderate internal


temperature.

        • Reducing the accumulation of moisture,


odors and other gases that can build up during
occupied periods.

        •.Creating air movement which improves

the comfort of occupants.


WATER BODY ON SITE

• The water body on the site creates a microclimate


around it and makes it comfortable for people
around it
• The swimming pool is also placed in open area
from which people can witness a beautiful city view
of hyderabad and the microclimate around it
• The swimming pool is placed at a higher elevation
from the ground so people experience the view and
there is privacy from people walking past the
building
• The swimming also has a roof so it doesn’t
experience any direct sunlight and has shade
PARKING
• The parking is divided into two levels 

 • Clearly defined and visible lobby or waiting area is provided to lifts and stairs

 • Vehicle and pedestrian access is separated improve pedestrian safety and comfort

• Natural ventilation is provided to parking area .

• South side is elevated to a higher level as there is a slope ranging from north to south

• Stills are given in the southern side to improve natural ventilation 


• Total no. Of 62 cars can be parked in
both the levels and each level can be
accessed by a separate ramp ​

 • 3 cars per flat can be parked​

 • Vehicular access is given in the
northern front

• The contour site has been


used to its maximum
• Here they have designed
colums as supports and used it
as underground parking
• They have not filled the slope
with sand rather than used that
slope as a benefit
STRUCTURAL
CONDITION
The use of iron in formation of
columns at the base of
building provides more
stability throughout the
building and resulting in the
best combinations with
contour. therefore set out
tomake the Structure also an
aesthetic aspect of the
building rather than seeing it
just as a support system.
TREES ON THE
SITE
• The trees near the entrance give a warm
sight to the people entering the aprtments
• The site has a used a lot of trees because it 
helps in holding the sand as the aprtments is
situated on a banjara hills
• The natural rocks and the trees present on
the site blends with the building perfectly
MATERIALS
• RCC frame structure with masonry partitions.

• All internal and balcony door frames shall be polished Teak


wood

• Main door shutter will be panelled teak wood.

• Bedrooms : Wood laminate flooring

• Living and Dining : Italian marble

• Balconies /Terraces/ Verandah : Tile flooring/deck flooring

MAXIMUM. THEY HAVE NOT ALTERED SURROUNDING.THE CONCRETE
WATER PONDS,SWIMMING POOL AND
THE SITE AND USED THE SITE AS IT IS MASONARY, NATURAL ROCK BEDS
ESTABLISHING CROSS VENTIALTION
AND LANDSCAPE LOOKS LIKE
